Welcome Guest Author DC Juris today/Contest

CONTEST INFORMATION: DC Juris is giving away to one commenter a PDF copy of Betrayed, his newest release. Please leave a comment with your email address to be entered. Contest closes Saturday Jan. 28th. Winner to be announced on this post.

To get us started can you tell us alittle about what you are working on or have coming out? My latest release is a fantasy m/m book called"Betrayed." It's actually a rewrite of the first story I everseriously wrote.

If someone hasn't read anyof your work, what book would you recommend that they start with and why? Inever know how to answer that question. It all depends on what they like. Ifthey like light, fun stories, then "Sundae Surprise" is good. If theylike twincest, there's The Sky People Trilogy. If they want angst riddenemotional stuff, then there's "Betrayed."

If you could entertain a character from a book, who would itbe and what would the evening be like? I'd love tovisit the island in "The Island of Doctor Moreau" by HG Wells. Notsuch much entertain any of the characters - I just think it'd be fascinating tosee the island.

What would you say is your interestingwriting quirk? Hmm…sadly I don't think I have anywriting quirks. I tend to only write with one specific pen - from Chemung CanalTrust Company. They give them away for free, but if I see one out somewhere -like if a waitress leaves it - I'll nab it. I love those pens.

What was one of the most surprisingthings you learned in creating your books? Thatpeople want to read them. LOL

If you had a reporter follow you aroundfor the day, what would the readers get to see in your daily schedule? Well, I do have an Evil Day Job - I work for aveterinarian. But it's anything but boring. My day is usually filled withangst, sarcasm, camaraderie, and fuzzy animals.
What does your workstation look like? I have my own little office in my house. It's got a4-drawer filing cabinet full of all my writing stuff, then I have a little deskwhere my computer sits - I have a Mac Mini with a dual monitor set up, andbeside my desk is another desk - custom made by my Hubby - on top of which is abookshelf  holding all my referencebooks. My desk is full of interesting little things - a tiny cloisonne elephantfrom my sister, a Dory Fish from "Finding Nemo", some wine bottlestoppers from the 2011 Glitz and Glamour drag show, a snow globe with"fuck you" inside it - all kids of stuff that I find interesting andfun to look at. I have a shelf behind me full of stuff toys and knickknacks. And of course there are hot nekkid mens on my walls.
Are you the type of individual who getsweepy at the end of a good movie, or a sad movie, or do you just stay neutralthrough it all? Pfft. No. I can count on one handthe number of movies I've cried at - "Sommersby" - at the end, whenthey show the graveyard - just because his death was so bittersweet - bothmeaning full and meaningless. And "The Green Mile" - at the end whenall the officers are crying. Otherwise, there's been one tv show that made mecry - when "Deadliest Catch" aired the tribute to Captain Phil Harris- OMFG. I bawled like a baby. Captain Phil had a lot of things in common withmy husband. Plus, Hubby really liked him.

What are you working on now? I have 24 WIPS going on right now.

Where can readers find you on the web? My website is www.dcjuris.com, my blog ishttp://dcjuris.blogspot.com, and I'm always on Facebook atwww.facebook.com/dcjuris

For fun:

What is your favorite pizza? Sadly, I can't eat anything but Gluten Free pizza anymore, and it isn't really all that good. However, before that, my favorite was fromFox's Pizza out in Erin, NY. It was topped with diced tomatoes, diced green peppers, bacon, ham, pepperoni, pineapple, and extra cheese.

What is one thing scientists shouldinvent? Better gluten free bread. Does that countas science? I'm probably supposed to say something like, cleaner energy, orsomething meaningful, but right now all I really want is better gluten freebread. It's all your fault - asking me about pizza! ::mumbles::

Are you a morning person or a nightperson? Night, definitely.

When you looked in the mirror thismorning, what was the first thing you thought? "Hey,I think there's cupcakes left!"

Anything else you would like to add? Just thanks for having me today, and thanks to all myreaders - I truly do appreciate the support!!!
