A slave is all he knows, and all Pasha assumes his life will amount to. Yet one
fateful day changes everything. When the slave spots a rugged pirate in the
back water tavern that they are at, he knows that he must do anything to get
his attention even though he does not know why. Pasha does not even remember
his own name so why would this pirate make such an impression? He is determined
to find the answer and does all that he can to become the pirate’s pleasure for
the night. Little does he know but that this one decision will forever change his
life.
I was pulled into this story right from the start. Pasha is a strong man even
though his enemies have wiped his memories and enslaved him he is still the man
he was once. It shines through in much of what he does. When he sees Griffin,
he does not know why but there is a connection, a bond that could never be
broken. As the two men share a night Griffin explains to Pasha who he truly is
and what he must do know. The relationship is strong between the two right from
the start and emotions rule. Pasha must come to terms about who he is and what
he needs to do. The two are good together and their bond only grows stronger as
they fight to make their way home. There is a lot of build up to the eventual
homecoming and the reveal of the true heir but not a lot of what happens after
they arrive to take things in hand. I would have loved to see more of Helios,
Griffin and their allies taking back what is theirs, but I am excited to see
that there is another book in this series, and I am eager to return to this
world and see what else happens. Not only did we get to see Helios and Griffin
but there are a few secondary characters that made themselves known and are an
integral part of this story. This is a fast-paced story that has a nice mix of
intrigue, action and sex with strong characters that will keep you engaged all
the way to the end.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
