I didn’t have the opportunity to read the first book, but with that being said, I don’t think I needed to. This book can be read as a stand alone because Mr. Barnette and Auburnimp catch you up to what happened in the first so that this book flows! I liked this book because not only did the main characters have issues, but it seemed like everyone around them were having them too. I loved the tenderness of Breeze, his love for his mates made them feel loved and cherished. Then comes Sword, an alpha by his own right, who needs to have control but, wants safety for his mates at all times. True, as Sword calls him, may not have wanted to find love but did and it knocked him off his feet. I think Stevie Wonder said it best, ‘something bout your love, it makes me weak and knocks me off my feet!’ Their lovemaking blew me away, just like the magic did to them! The magic doesn’t lie with the Swordbrothers! Last but not least, Zephyr, the whore’s son, needed and wanted love, but because of his mother’s sin, he carried it around like a scarlet letter for all the clans to see. The clans didn’t want him around and that hurt him so bad. I wanted to climb into the story and hug him myself, but True took care of him and made him see that he loved him from his heart and if the clans didn’t want them, shake the dust off your feet and keep on moving! The love that they all provided for one another made everything that they’ve been through worth it. I’ll be reading this for months to come. The magic never lies!

I reviewed the first book of this series and was absolutely captivated by this author’s new twist on angels, fallen angels and more. This picks up where the first book, On Death’s Wing, and this time Raphael is center stage. I really enjoy the way this author delivers a edge of your seat ride with her Fallen Angels series., With the right touch of mystery, passion and twists, FALL FROM GRACE keeps the reader on teeter hooks as Raphael finds himself in the cross hairs as Lucifer takes an interest in him. He finds a passion that he thought he would never find again and this time he is determined to enjoy it no matter if Samael gets a bit mad.

Here you meet Raphael, former lover of Samael and hurting in ways he never expected to ever feel. Determined to drown his sorrows, he finds that he has a visit with Michael, an angel from On High. Then before he could contemplate what that visit means, Raphael finds another visitor waiting for him, the Son of the Morningstar himself, Lucifer. This is a fallen angel who tempts him like no other and Raphael is determined to end the pain he feels even if it is at the hands of the one man he thinks is nuts to tweak Samael’s nose over him.

Great characters, fast paced plot and intriguing twists all make this one satisfying read. With an unexpected ending that leaves you almost speechless, Auburnimp delivers a story that will keep you glued to your e-reader/computer for hours as you feel Raphael’s pain and the stirrings of a love for another even though he still is connected to Samael. FALL FROM GRACE is a satisfying read that will keep you highly entertained and eager for more. I look forward to reading the entire series eventually and look forward to more of the fallen angels. If you enjoy a series that has angels, demons, mystery and some very erotic sex scenes, then grab FALLEN ANGELS SERIES from Auburnimp. I do suggest you read it in order as each book seems to capitalize on the one before it.

The characters are full of misgivings, fighting inside themselves over what is right and wrong and this author creates very multi-faceted characters that fairly leap off the pages and into your heart. I was sympathizing after awhile with the Fallen Angel, Samael after reading of his hurt over Raphael. It made me want to learn more about this past relationship.

Meet Daniel, a young man who was a whore and an addict. After being beaten by his pimp, he is saved by the most sinfully sexy man he has ever seen yet he knows something is not quite right when Samael doesn’t take advantage right away. With tenderness, passion and soothing touches, Auburnimp delves into a relationship that is fragile and new as Daniel finds himself drawn to Samael in ways he never imagined. Can Daniel accept who Samael is and forge a strong relationship with the one person who gives him everything he ever desired?

With strong characters, a fast paced storyline and glimpses of the humanity behind the faces, Auburnimp delivers a beautiful told story of two people who may have been unlucky in the past with relationships but now they are connected with a fragile chain. Samael is strong and alpha to the core yet he still hurts over Raphael. I am really looking forward to reading the rest in the series and highly recommend this first book, ON DEATH’S WINGS, if you enjoy angels, love and lots of yummy sex. Just a word of warning: this has M/M scenes that you may not enjoy. LOVERS 1: BONDMATES is the first book I read of the Dragonhope series. I found it very intriguing and cast with some colorful characters. Both authors deliver a story full of twists, turns and a fast paced storyline that will leave you breathless. I really enjoyed the way the characters, Windspinner and Starshine, interacted with each other and the other characters. They seemed to grow as the story moved on and before you knew it, they were nestled in your hearts.

I was a little lost though when reading BONDMATES since I never read one of the earlier series books (Dragon & Feynx, Swordbrothers) that it took me awhile to get comfortable with the storyline. I definitely will grab the other two series to see how the secondary characters mentioned in LOVERS 1: BONDMATES got together and maybe fill in missing pieces of some puzzles in my head.

Overall, BONDMATES is a satisfactory read with some engaging characters, tight writing and some unexpected twists and turns to keep you glued to the computer, waiting to see what happens next. If you enjoy some wonderful characters, quick paced storyline and some sensual love scenes, then grab LOVERS 1: BONDMATES and settle in for a wonderful time in the Dragonhope world.
