Then, when she killed a female werewolf she swore never to do so again. Now she tries to thwart their efforts while pretending to be one of them. She meets Daniel Cannon, one of the alpha’s of the Cannon pack. When he comes to her dental office for some teeth work, she can hardly believe how the big bad wolf could be so scared of a little drill. One night, while out ‘hunting’ she is kidnapped by Daniel and his pack. Now Daniel is spending time with her and the time is getting hotter and hotter. Daniel wants to believe she has reformed but the hunters are out for blood and need to be stopped. His pack is not so forgiving and has its own plans for Lauren. How can Daniel protect her from his pack and keep her from being killed? And it’s not his own pack he needs to protect her from.

One thing you will get from a Beverly Rae book is not only a hot, sensuous, highly erotic story but a bundle of laughs too. Oh, this talented author knows how to tickle the funny bone and has her characters mouthing off one witty comment after another. This story starts out with a bang…a few of them in fact as we get to know Connor right away. A big, alpha male with needs, he uses women after he lost his mate to the hunters. This story will have you on the edge of your seat as the plot races through the pages and you are wondering what will happen to poor Lauren. She is not the lay-down-and-show-the-tummy submissive type. No, she stands up for herself and she is determined too. When they first meet, Lauren and Connor are spitting out the wit so fast you may get dizzy but you will certainly be laughing. I did get a little put off with her telling Daniel so many times, that she was sorry for the killing she’d made a year ago, but I guess Daniel needed that reassurance. There are a number of great secondary characters too who also have their own special type of wit and the sex scenes…well, let’s just say that I am happy my laptop survived the heat! A great story and I hope to read more from this talented writer.

Chase and Dirk are the purrfect playmates for her, but it’s Chase that really gets her motor running. Chase is not keen on sharing her, but if it’s the only way to have her, then bring it on. When Shannon has a run-in with a bear, Chase has to show his true colours. Will she accept him and become his mate?

Beverly Rae has always been a favourite author of mine and in this story, she has written one wild ride of a tale! Shannon is an older woman who believes that men are only for sex, and her libido is at full power. She’s come to the ranch to ride as many cowboys as she can. Chase is a loner, a man who doesn’t like humans, who feels they are just too much trouble. Shannon, however totally rocks his boat. Ms Rae builds up the sexual tension between Chase, Shannon and Dirk. Then it explodes in a menage that will curl your toes. She’s added some BDSM elements to spice things up too. Throughout the whole story, you feel the connection between Chase and Shannon. It becomes pretty obvious who Shannon will be with, and Ms. Rae has made the whole threesome very believable. If you like a story with some strong characters, a bit of BDSM and a menage, some really hot, sensuous, scorching sex scenes, then pick this one up. Just have the ice box ready!

Only thing is, her father is pushing her to join the family business, the business of hunting and killing shifters. While in the gym, she accidently slides off the treadmill and into the arms of her dream man. In a short time, things get heated and Jason has finally found his true mate. He loves her curves, her smell and her taste. But he’s not too happy at having to parade as a newbie hunter under the watchful eye of her father. Things get really out of hand when everyone thinks Jason is actually gay!

Oh, this is a fabulous story that I really enjoyed. Beverly Rae writes great characters, a bevy of interesting and funny secondary characters, a plot that keeps you hopping and some truly deliciously, toe-curling, sensuous sex scenes. I love the way she writes a rather serious story but imbues it with a good dose of humor that makes the reader smile. I nearly howled when Sydney’s father thought Jason was gay. Think of Romeo and Juliet, two characters from opposing families who fall in love in spite of the consequences. Happily, this story doesn’t end in tragedy, although it almost does. It’s a great adventure that I am sure you will enjoy. Every one of this talented author’s books is a joy to read and you will want them all!

It is certainly worth reading to see how this clever author gets her characters to the end. And the end, yes, the treasure is not what they expected but I won’t say anything more. You’ll have to read this story to find out just what kind of treasure they find. And then you’ll have to pick up another book from Beverly Rae.
