For new slayer, Savannah Marshall, her first job in slaying a vampire should have been a breeze yet she never expected her first job would have her finding the vampire of her dreams. Now if she could stop the insane vampire nut who wants to start the war to end all wars between vampires and humans. Can Savannah stay alive long enough to have an eternity with Donatello Ravell?

LOVE AT FIRST STAKE had me laughing hysterically within minutes. It was truly a story that tickles the funny bone and keeps you glued to the pages. I loved how Savannah always seemed to get Donatello back in some way either with words or with her “enthusiasm” for hunting vampires. Mr. Morgan does a wonderful job keeping the reader highly entertained and ready for more as Savannah and Donatello go after a rogue vampire determined to start the next Vampire-Human war. With some really hilarious moments to some tender ones, the reader is treated to a gauntlet of emotions and you will never get bored.

LOVE AT FIRST STAKE introduces the reader to Savannah Marshall, a new vampire hunter who thinks she did it right when she bags a vampire right on her first night out. What she gets is a vampire who makes her knees weak and drives her slightly insane. This is a delightful character that had me howling in laughter over her one-liners to finding out that the man of her dreams is a vampire. Mr. Morgan delivers two characters that keep you on your toes and looking forward to the next part of their relationship. Donatello Ravell is a vampire enforcer, one who polices his kind and when Savannah decides to stake him, he wasn’t the only one who was surprised by the entire mess. This was a wonderful foil to Savannah…strong yet vulnerable, exasperated by Savannah yet charmed at the same time. I really enjoyed these two together and add in some great secondary characters and the reader is entrenched in a world where vampires and humans are the norm.

LOVE AT FIRST STAKE
brings to mind Mary Janice Davidson’s Betsy the Vampire queen series, full of laughter, mysteries and other good stuff to keep the reader entertained and intrigued. If you enjoy Ms. Davidson’s vampire series, then grab Mr. Morgan’s first book in the Love Bites series, LOVE AT FIRST STAKE. Just make sure that you are not drinking while reading this- the antics of Savannah and Donatello will keep you in stitches from start to finish.

Essie far prefers the cold North, the very cold North, but she’s stuck in hotter-than-hot Texas on assignment. And she’s in a town that probably didn’t make the map. Well, it’s Christmas Eve and soon she’ll be back in the frozen North, with Santa and the rest of the elves. But on her way home, she gets picked up by a local officer of the law who thinks she’s a hoor. Well, she’s checking out the naughty and nice list and when she meets Sheriff Dalton, she decides that being naughty might have some perks after all, especially if it gets her her man. Essie believes in meeting trouble head on and if she makes Santa’s naughty list this year, then so be it.

You can always be sure that with a book from J. Morgan, you’ll be reading with a big grin on your face. In this short, you’ll be chuckling for sure as this author blends a special type of humor into this entertaining story. Cleverly using the first person, Essie is a character you can relate to and love. You’ll cheer her on, cringe when she stumbles into one situation after another and sigh when she gets her man. This is a good, funny, well-rounded story that will add lots of cheer to your Christmas. Be sure to pick this one up if you like a good dose of humor with your sexy stories and check out the other titles J. Morgan has to offer. I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

Poor Candice. It’s her birthday, and although she’s planned and announced at work that she’s going to take the day off, she gets called in way too early as some of her colleagues, including her boss, didn’t come into work. What a way to start the day. Well, lets hope they were puking their guts out for spoiling Candice’s day. Well, at least Candice can look forward to a free night in a hotel, care of her two girlfriends, and a very nice surprise. A stripper! Well, even that goes wrong. Instead of a scantily clad hunk of beefcake, the agency screws up and sends a clown. Well, Candice won’t let that deter her getting her Full Monty, so she does a bit of clown napping and ends up in love, floppy shoes and all!

If you haven’t picked up a book by J Morgan before, then you are in for a treat. If you like a lot of quirky comedy with your romance, then you are in for a double treat. J Morgan is, in my opinion, a great comedy writer. His stories are fun, there are lots of laughs, they are full of quirky, if not sometimes manic characters, and I can guarantee you, you will not stop laughing. His stories go beyond chic lit, and if you enjoy this one, you must pick up more of his work, which also includes some really funny paranormal romances. J Morgan also writes a sensual romance and great love scenes. So, for a great read, for a laugh or three, I can highly recommend you pick up a book by this talented writer.
