Gabe Spencer is an ex-Navy SEAL and LOST founder who is turned inside out when in walks Eve Gray, a woman who has no memory of her past and is a dead ringer for victims of a deadly serial killer, named Lady Killer. When Eve woke in the hospital, it was with a blank slate. With no memory of her past and a face she only recognized in the paper, she turns to the LOST crew to help her piece together the truth and find her life again. But as Gabe and Eve work together, their chemistry is off the charts and their desire becomes explosive. But even as these two fight their attraction and solve the mystery that is Eve, a killer stalks them determined to make sure Eve stays dead this time around.

This was one of the first of this author’s romantic suspense books I have read from this author and I fell in love with the LOST crew right off the bat. The author does an admirable job in capturing the different personalities that make up the LOST crew and it melded perfectly together. There was the right amount of mystery/suspense, sexual tension and I was alongside Gabe and Eve as they tried to figure out who Eve really was and who the killer was. The writing was tight and the story flowed smoothly. What I really enjoyed was the dynamics between the lost crew. They are each different people with different specialties and I loved how they worked together to help Eve find her past. The author does a great job in capturing each character’s personalities and vulnerabilities perfectly. I felt like I ‘knew’ these wonderful people intimately. The author really does a marvelous job in capturing each character, be it main ones or secondary ones, and brings them to life amid the pages of BROKEN.

What was paired up with the Gabe and Eve romance was the mystery behind Eve. Who she was, what she survived, why she survived and more played perfectly amid the pages and set off the romance between Gabe and Eve perfectly.  The characters are what make this book so enjoyable. We got Eve’s determination to solve who she is, Gabe’s cynical view that Eve is nothing more than a con artist and a killer determined to make Eve silent, once and for all.  All those variables play perfectly in BROKEN and I, for one, can not wait to see what else is in store for the LOST crew as they solve riddles and find the ones that are lost. If you enjoy a highly charged, thriller with some twists that will keep you in suspense, then pick up BROKEN and get ready to fight alongside Gabe, Eve and the rest of the cast as they try to stay one step ahead of a killer and not die in the process.
