Catherine has come to Colorado to escape a scandal. She now lives with her stuffy old Uncle. One day, she’s in town when she sees a man get shot. Her father is a doctor and she has learned from him how to take care of wounds and illnesses. Catherine helps the man and nurses him back to health. Then Lon Van Anders comes by and sees the man. He is shocked and leaves immediately. Catherine is surprised to see Lon too, he was the reason she left her home in the first place. Now she becomes involved with these two men and their family. A lost son and brother, a diabolical plan to get rich quick and a mad man’s ravings could cost them all their lives.

First of all, Westerns are not usually my cup of tea but I have read books by this author before in different genres and I have highly enjoyed them, so, I thought I’d take a chance on this one and was not disappointed at all. With her usual style, Larriane Wills gives her readers a story that is not only interesting and exciting with lifelike characters but she uses multiple plots to keep the reader engaged. Just when you think it’s over, she throws in another twist and off you run again. I found this book well written, clear and concise and easy to follow. I loved all the characters, the setting and the plot. This is a great book that you’ll want to read again!
