Lord Larken is visiting the Duke of Hollindrake under false pretences. Loyal to the Crown, he’s pretending to be a vicar and is after a notorious pirate who happens to be his friend. He is there to kill the man who had been freed from prison. Thalia Langley suspects something different about the dangerous, handsome looking man. She is sure he is a rogue, definitely no saint. When Tally’s trunk goes astray and another shows up in it’s place, she finds a gorgeous black gown, which she wears. When Lord Larken sees her in this revealing dress, he is almost led astray. Tally is determined to interfere with Larken’s plans, he just needs to stay on track and not be distracted by the beguiling miss.

I really enjoyed this entertaining story. I loved Thalia Langley, a no-nonsense miss who knows exactly what she wants and sets out to get it. Lord Larken is delicious and their love story is sizzling and sensuous. It was quite comical to see how he tries to play the bungling vicar. The plot captivates the reader and there will be surprises that will make you keep turning those pages. Hard-core historical romance readers have already come to love Elizabeth Boyle’s stories. I have just discovered this talented author and am going to be looking up more titles right away. Dear reader, if you are discovering the delights of historical romances, do put Elizabeth Boyle on your ‘to buy’ list right away. You won’t regret it.
