This is the newest book in Christine Feehan’s Dark series. Once again we have a tortured hero and a woman who is fated to save him. This book gives us the story of Andre and Teagan. As a long time fan of this author I was excited to see a new Dark book come out. This book seems like it was more of a way to move on to the next and bigger adventure, giving readers a small glimpse into the Carpathian world but not really giving more than that small glimpse. Teagan has gone in search of a special crystal  but she soon finds much more. Andre is the more that she finds. The two must work together to figure things out and to fight the vampires. Will the two find love or will the evil win?

As much of a fan of this author that I am I did not find myself enjoying Andre and Teagan as much as previous books and couples.  Their story moves at a slow pace and neither character endears themselves to this reader. It was nice to see Teagan face her fears and fight for herself. I would have liked to see more of the two outside of the cave and dealing with life in general. The two are from different worlds and Andre’s he-man attitude clashes with Teagan’s modern woman beliefs. The two must break through to each other and find common ground before they can fight their way out. We get to see their hard fought journey to love and understanding in this book.

I was not pulled in enough to get lost in their story but still enjoyed visiting this world again. Although this couple and their story are not a favorite I am still eager to see where this author will take the Carpathians next.
