DEATH MAGIC is part of a series and each chapter is filled with interesting happenings. The layers in the plot engage the reader and surround them, with action and escape from the world around them. The main characters are strong and committed in this complex world with a fantasy realm.The world building takes the reader into a believable place, where they will find magic, strange elementals and other paranormals live. When the elementals begin to act strangely even the humans are in danger. Rule is concerned for those with no protection and hopes to turn the bad guy’s back, before it’s too late, but Doppelgangers’ change everything again.

The story is very fast paced and has a great plot-line, making every chapter exciting. It’s intense with plenty of complex and suspenseful happenings. The romance between the H/H is blended in nicely with the action and plenty of twists.

It’s a page grabber and if you haven’t read any of Ms. Wilks novels and you love paranormal suspense, read this and be entertained.

The seventh and latest urban fantasy in Eileen Wilks’ Lupi series, BLOOD CHALLENGE, is good versus evil, overcoming prejudices and second chances at love all rolled up into one supernaturally charged good time.

Rule’s brother, Benedict, a widower and Lupus royalty, is sent to investigate and catches a beautiful intruder not once but twice. The first time, he finds half-breed sidhe Arjenie at Friar’s heavily guarded compound and then later finds her sneaking around his Clan home with a secret potion.

Remarkably, Benedict finds that the Lupi goddess has given him an unheard of second lifemate. And it appears that a spell is keeping Arjenie from speaking of certain aspects of her mission. Now, it is up to Lily, Rule, Benedict and Arjenie to save the day, keep the peace and stop the killings.

This reader was new to Wilks’ Lupi world when she picked up BLOOD CHALLENGE. Although it probably would have been nice to have read the books that came before BLOOD CHALLENGE in this series, enough background was given that it wasn’t necessary to the enjoyment factor. Eileen Wilks’ has created a magical world rich in multifaceted characters that are both good, bad and all the shades in between. The Friar and his followers are willing to do shameful things because of their fear of the supernaturals. Ms. Wilks’ emotional writing moves the story along at a tense and fearful speed that keeps readers glued to the page.

When Benedict realizes he has been given a rare second chance at love, his shock, hope, fears and even arrogance over the fact all shine through in Ms. Wilks’ entertaining writing style.

This reader thoroughly enjoyed Eileen Wilks’ BLOOD CHALLENGE and looks forward to reading the rest of this intriguing and emotional series. Four paranormal/Urban Fantasy stories from your favorite authors centered on Magical Tattoos and this is just a taste of what these fabulous authors offer the reader. Settle in for one wild ride in INKED.

The anthology kicks off with Karen Chance’s Skin Deep, which is a short novella story centered on War Mage, Lia and her search for her missing were-mate, Cyrus while on an undercover mission. Can Lia get to him before it is too late?

Ms. Chance’s Skin Deep is one pulse pounding ride from start to finish. This is the third short story about Lia and Cyrus so that I had to pull the other two out (Strange Brew and Wolfsbane and Mistletoe) to enjoy again. Ms. Chance delves into the underworld of Vegas and has Lia racing against the clock as she tries to save Cyrus from a were-killer before he becomes the next victim. What I really enjoyed was the way Ms. Chance incorporates flashbacks of Lia and Cyrus’s romance into the story and delivers a nice back-story that moves the present story along in Skin Deep. I would love to see this as a full length series because there are some really wonderful characters I am dying to know more of and the city they populate.

Next up was Marjorie M. Liu’s Armor of Roses, a Maxine Kiss story. I didn’t read the kick off to this series yet (IRON KISS) and frankly, I was a bit lost as to why Maxine was the way she was. I did enjoy the way she went back in time and met her grandmother, the mystery that started there that ended up in present day had me intrigued. I look forward to reading more on Maxine and her friends in the future.

Third was a story from Yasmine Galenorn that had me glued to the pages. Etched in Silver is the beginning of Camilla’s and Tristen’s romance in the Fae world. It was nice to see how the sisters lived and worked in the Fae world before they came over to Earthside. I admit this was the main reason I grabbed this book. I adore this author’s Otherworld series and absolutely loved how she introduced some wonderful secondary characters in this one. This was a very enjoyable story that left me wanting more.

Finally, Eileen Wilk’s story in set in her World of Lupi series, Human Nature and has FBI Agent Lily Yu and her Prince Werewolf, Rule, after a killer. This was a new author to me and frankly, I am eager to read the whole series so far as this just wetted my appetite to know more about Lily, Rule and the whole Lupi world. It was a fast paced adventure as Lily dealt with killers, hatred and relationship issues that had me rooting for Lily to save the day and help Rule as well. This was a satisfying ending to one wonderful anthology.

INKED was a wonderful anthology that will appeal to many readers. It had me racing to the internet to check out the other books three of these authors had out. I really enjoyed all four stories and look forward to more in the future from them. If you enjoy reading your favorite authors or “new to me” authors if the case may be, then grab INKED and settle in for a night of shifters, magic and tattoos. It is definitely one I will read again and again.

I never read t his author before so this is truly one of those “do I dare?” and once I opened the book; I was spellbound into a world with magic, mysteries, action adventure and such a fast pace, it almost gave me whip lash!

Meet Cynna Weaver a woman who is not only dealing with her pregnancy with her mate but also finding out that the facts told from long ago are all lies and add in anxiety over being a parent, you have the makings of nail biting story that will keep you entertained and breathless.

Ms. Wilks delivers a wild, heart pounding ride in NIGHT SEASON and will leave you wanting more. With her exceptional characters, action, suspense and mysteries with a little magic thrown in, you get the makings of one rocking ride!
