For Marine Darnell Wright, a little R&R was what he needed from the sand and warfare of Afghanistan. One more tour of duty and he can then figure out what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. But first, he wanted to get a drink, kick back and watch the hot guys walking around the strip in Key West. Darnell just never anticipated in seeing the one face that had caused him so much pain years before. Can he forgive Brent for the deception he plays on Darnell and finally get that happily ever after he longed for with the man he always loved?

Cassandre Dayne delivers a short novella that will surely keep you on the edge of your seat and eager for more. Her lyrical writing style captured my imagination and I almost thought I could feel the hot sun on my face as the ocean waves crashed ashore nearby. Here she weaves a spell around her readers with a tale of a marine on an R&R vacation and looking for sinful fun. What he gets is so much more. The writing is tight; story moves at a nice, even pace and the characters are intriguing. What I do wish was that this was a bit longer story-wise. I could sense there was so much more to be said for Darnell and Brent, together and separately. The characters are intriguing; especially Brent and Darnell’s sisters who like to meddle. I won’t tell you what they did if you haven’t read this one yet but needless to say I was giggling over their remarks.

Meet Darnell Wright, a marine who has been stationed in Afghanistan for almost a year. Getting two weeks R&R in Key West has him anxious to experience the atmosphere here. I enjoyed Darnell though I have to admit I felt he made it too easy for Brent to win him back. I wished he made it a bit rougher for Brent. Brent Majors is a man who knows what he is and wants…and he wants Darnell Wright back in his life. Brent was a character I had a hard time sympathizing with initially. There was just something about him that made me question his motives, especially when he meets up with Darnell again. The secondary characters are interesting and kept the story going nicely.

HOT SUMMER NIGHTS: KEY WEST is a short, sexy read that is perfect for a quick read at lunch or on a break. If you need a quick, pick me up, then I highly recommend the Hot Summer Nights stories to help you heat things up on an otherwise cold day. I can’t wait to see where else this author sets her Hot Summer Nights stories in. I am sure it will be just as hot there as it was in this one.

Police detective Tony Dartanion loves his job and wants to make captain but working in a precinct where being gay was not a good thing to be, had Tony hiding that part of himself to everyone around him. What was worse, Tony’s lover, Caelen Tomlin, deserved better than what Tony was giving him. Dancing around the issues in their relationship, Tony decides once and for all to show Caelen that he isn’t that dirty little secret and he was proud to be with him. But will Tony be in time to save his relationship or will he watch it go out the door?

Oh my, Cassandre Dayne delivers one hot sexy story to fall in love with. I fell in love with Tony and Caelen and the reader gets to know both intimately as this author weaves their relationship into the storyline with ease. I enjoyed seeing the way Tony took initiative in his relationship, showing Caelen he can change but also showing that it takes more than pretty words and hot steamy sex to make a relationship work. The writing is tight, the story flows nicely and yes, there are a lot of sex scenes but you get the sense that this was what the author wanted, to show the lengths Tony would go to make his lover see his needs will be met and spice things up a bit. I have got to admit, though, after reading this one, I needed to cool off some. Wow it gets hot in this book.

Meet Tony and Caelen. Tony is a Philly Police Detective, tired of hiding who he really is to the outside world. He knows he needs to mend things with Caelen but is it too late for them? Tony and Caelen are hot together and definitely two people with a deep connection. The reader gets an idea of what is wrong with their relationship and I enjoyed the lengths Tony went to show Caelen this. A sweet twist left me flipping the pages to see what would happen next and man, it threw me completely. I totally enjoyed that little twist and it got me to see how deeply in love these two are with one another. The secondary characters are smoking hot. I swore my fingertips were singed a few times when they came onto the scene.

GAME OVER is more than a romance between two people, it’s about the lengths a person will go to show his lover that he is everything to them. The tenderness between these two characters stole my heart even as they revved my lust up a bit. Let’s just say that walk was greatly needed. Cassandre Dayne is a highly skilled storyteller who knows how to give her readers what they want- two people who go to such lengths to show their hearts to someone, to fix what isn’t broken and let yourself fall in love with them all over again. This is an author who knows her characters-intimately- and I loved how she delivers some even more wicked fun for Caelen. I am not saying what it is, you need to read the book to find out but let’s just say it’s very, very naughty. GAME OVER is one story I want to see more of. I hope the author will go back to these characters and maybe give the secondary characters a chance to shine as well.

If you are looking for a fun, sexy read for a sunny afternoon, then I highly recommend GAME OVER and make sure you have plenty of ice to cool yourself down with…you are going to need it.

Jezebel Waters or Jessie to her friends has a wonderful life, great career, wonderful friends but she doesn’t have a man in her life. She knew she craved something different…something that her whole being needed, wanted. She needs a dominant man, one who will command her in every way. Resigned to never finding that man, she fails miserably in several relationships and vows to be alone forever. That is until Luke Malone walks into her life and opens her eyes. Luke has that quiet commanding demeanor, one that hooked Jessie immediately. After one meeting, Jessie wanted more. Now the time is near-can Jessie let go of her fears and become the woman she is destined to be, with Luke?

Cassandre Dayne delivers a powerful, eloquent story of a woman who finally finds what she has longed for and it is one story that isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a heartfelt story and it’s tender. It’s sexy. It’s also a journey for two people that the reader just cannot help but fall in love with. This isn’t your typical D/s story at all. When you first meet Jessie and Luke, you can see the powerful attraction between them. It literally had me wondering if my e-reader was going to blow up from all the sparks between them. Cassandre Dayne delivers a powerful story, one that will leave the reader breathless. The writing is tight, story flows at a nice pace and the characters are very well written.

Cassandre Dayne delves into the world of BDSM and explicitly a D/s relationship. She eloquently tells the story of one woman’s journey into being true to herself and finding out if she can enter into the D/s lifestyle Luke was offering her. Luke was a good man, a commanding man and one who held me hostage whenever he came onto the pages. His quiet commanding presence, his insistence that Jessie look inside herself before she commits to their relationship and understand her longing before she commits it to Luke one hundred percent. What got to me was how haunting some parts were, with Jessie reflecting on the whys and hows of this change, why she craves it and the love she has for Luke in her heart. The poetry that is included is a perfect complement to Jessie’s story.

ON BECOMING HIS is a thought provoking, highly emotional story that will leave the reader breathless. With each page, I was drawn into Jessie’s journey and found myself enthralled with her and Luke’s relationship. Kudos to Cassandre Dayne for creating a beautiful moving story that conveys the meaning of a D/s relationship-Love, commitment, passion, understanding, obedience and belonging. It is beautifully written and one I highly recommend if you enjoy BDSM stories, specifically the D/s lifestyle. I look forward to seeing more of Jessie and Luke in the future.

How long did it take to write the story? From the day you came up with the idea to the very last day of writing. CD: For my piece called Done – I had an idea and wrote that down in the morning and in truth had the entire 60k word piece done in less than two weeks.

Tell us about your latest release/Upcoming release. It’s called DONE – in which two men are moving forward in their relationship and they adopt a little girl together. One of the men calls one day and says he is done with the relationship and takes the little girl. It’s a mystery though so not only is this about the jilted man trying to figure out what happened and soothe his aching heart but… just who is his lover anyway?

What made you want to write? I always have since I was five years old.

What authors do enjoy reading in your downtime? Sadly I don’t get as much time to write and I have personal favorites who are friends of mine like Patricia Logan and Lisa Worrell and then some big names like Carl Haissen and Tim Dorsey.

How important is the beginning chapter - the opening - the first few lines? You set the tone of the piece. Whether it’s terrifying or poignant, I think if you can really tell the reader and hook them then they won’t stop.

In what order do you write? For example starting beginning to end, combining parts, in random order or in development cycle?  I tend to start and finish and then edit with the exception of the thrillers. I have to go back and reread passages to make certain the twists and turns are there.

You are called upon, at a school, to tell those interested in becoming an author, all the ins and outs of good writing skills and getting published. What are the three important elements in writing, publishing and promoting that you would give them? Write every day and edit more than you think you need to. Understand the business is about self promoting and that your footprint on the Internet stays for a lifetime so be courteous and put yourself in the best light and choose a publisher or two who you can consider as a team but loyalty really is an important virtue.

Do you plot out each chapter? Or are you a seat of the pants writer? The thrillers I plot and the erotics I plan but write.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so what are your favorites Artists and or albums? God yes with music – a MUST. I write sex scenes to Nickelback or Rev Theory and I write always to dance music or 80’s music.

Out of all your characters which one do you identify the most with and why? That’s too hard. I have so many characters but in truth I probably identify with several of my male characters, tough but hiding behind a mask.

Out of all your books, do you have a favorite book/character(s)? What is it about that particular book/character that you enjoy so much? I love my vampire in the Fire Series with Naughty Nights Press – he is sophisticated and yet very alluring. I also love my community manager, Nicky French, in my Pinked Series. She can dish out dealing with a murder and handling assholes and still keep looking sexy.

Do you have a book that you you just cringe? If so, which one is it, and why? Not cringe at one but when I go back and edit say an old piece that’s finally go out I have to go WTH?

What are your writing goals for the future? I would honestly love to have the Pinked Series looked at for HBO and I would certainly love to bring erotic again to the New York Times Best seller list.

Now a few fun questions:

How would you describe yourself using only five words? Bold, opinionated, passionate, kind, wicked

If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say? If you don’t want to know, don’t ask.

Do you have any guilty pleasures? Red wine and cheese

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you. I was a licensed Financial Advisor for American Express.

If you could go any place in the world and to any time period, what place or time period would you choose to visit? Camelot – hands down

What is your favorite super power and why do you want it?  I want to start fires with my mind and you need to ask why?  LOL

DONE by Cassandre Dayne

Simon Preston loved his life. Between his job as a highly paid architect and his lover, Chad Murphy, things couldn’t be better. And since adopting the precocious little girl who was the love of their lives, he was ready to take the next step - marriage. After a grueling day at work, Simon decided to surprise his melded family with a homemade dinner and a selection of the finest Disney movies available. He also had another surprise in mind. Gay marriages were legalized in the state of New York and even though their relationship wasn’t perfect, Simon knew it was time to make it official. The feast prepared, he waited. And waited.

When the call came, Simon's life was immediately shattered. In disbelief, he fell into a state of despair. How could Chad leave him and take the baby? Hell bent on getting his life back, Simon fought his inner demons, an abusive past and false truths and walked a twisted path until he was a changed man. And suddenly, he was faced with the fact no one believed Chad was really in his life. Was he truly going mad?

Michael Dayton was a private investigator and former decorated cop. And he was the only man who believed Simon’s story. As both men slipped down a trail of lies and deceit, Michael attempted to drag Simon back from the brink of revenge and the ravages of insanity but he had demons of his own. Could the love and honesty given freely be their salvation or would Simon lose what was left of his humanity?
