For accountant Harry Ralph Emerson, numbers don’t lie and he has always been by the books sort of person. But now he has issues, namely that he is sprouting hair where there was none and now his well ordered life is going down in flames. Frantic and just a little desperate, Harry turns to the OOPS, or otherwise known as Open Paranormal Support for help. For poor Harry is turning into a werewolf and he needs help desperately.

Mara Flaherty is lusting after Harry but knows that after her one time of trying to seduce him that went down spectacularly in flames, she is resigned to carrying the torch for him from afar. Until her sister-in-law, Marty, tells her to help Harry adjust to being a werewolf. Except she knows why Harry is turning into a werewolf and it is up to her to fix the mess Harry is now in. The question is will Harry be able to move past this in order to see Mara’s love shining through?

I have to admit when I need a laugh out loud; bust your side book to read I always reach for Dakota Cassidy’s books. There is humor-oh lord a ton of it which I love, amazing cast of characters and romance all rolled up in one book. She has this ability to make you fall in love with her characters and laugh at their antics, thoughts and more when you read one of her books. In the follow up to the first book, ‘The Accidental Werewolf’, we find the Pack’s cosmetic company’s accountant is about to find himself knee deep in paranormal creatures…ones that he thinks are a myth. Think Again, Harry!

I have to admit Harry and Mara wormed their way I into my heart the moment they popped up on the pages. Harry is organized, determined to have nothing go wrong in his life. Mara is in love/lust with Harry and after a bad seduction attempt on her part has her shot down by Harry, she figures on loving him from afar. They both never anticipated Harry sprouting fur and craving red meat or the fact it is Mara’s fault he is changing into a werewolf. These two characters just delighted me to pieces. You got Harry who is just about freaking out over this change and then there is Mara, who feels guilty Harry is experiencing this and loving him at the same time. Add in some meddling in laws and that pesky turning into a werewolf thing and you got the makings of a story that surely knocks your socks off. The characters are well written, totally delightful and I loved seeing some familiar faces pop up within the pages of SOMETHING ABOUT HARRY. The secondary characters keep the story moving smoothly and were just as intriguing as out main characters.

SOMETHING ABOUT HARRY can be read as a standalone title but I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning. It is just that good! If you enjoy laugh out loud moments, Exquisite characters and a story that leaves you breathless then grab The Accidentals series by Dakota Cassidy. I can’t wait to see what she has next for this series in the future.

Marty Andrews is hoping she can motivate her two fledgling make-up saleswomen and finds her world goes ass end up. First she gets bit by some mangy mutt. Then come to find out her professional career at Bobbi-Sue Cosmetics is on the edge of a cliff. And to complete the hell her week has been, said mangy mutt is a werewolf. Yeah you heard me, a werewolf. Dealing with the changes her body and system is going through leaves Marty short tempered, miserable and when she finds herself kidnapped as well…well let’s just she finds herself ready for bedlam.

THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF kicks off a wonderful series filled with humor, plot twists you don’t see coming and more. Ms. Cassidy delivers her introduction into the ‘Accidental …’ series with a bang. The story is fast paced, has a few twists I didn’t see coming and the cast of characters are diverse and very well written. Everything about this book had me glued to the pages until the very end. Ms. Cassidy is a talented storyteller who knows how to entertain her readers with engrossing tales to enjoy.

Meet Marty Andrews. Her life is far from perfect but she has made something of herself at Bobbi-Sue Cosmetics. Her career is growing until she finds out her accounts got swiped by a rival and her mood swings are driving her insane. Between those two items as well as there is a strange man trying to tell her she is now a werewolf courtesy of his bite when he was a werewolf. A bite he didn’t mean to do to her. Wow is all I can say when Keegan Flaherty and Marty meet up. Talk about sparks. These two are pure combustion and I loved Marty’s sarcastic wit at times as it had me giggling, especially as she deals with the whole ‘shifting into a wolf, hair growing faster than a blade of grass’ sort of thing. The characters are well written, quite enjoyable and multi-dimensional. Keegan is pure yumminess as his alpha personality tries to explain to Marty what happened without sounding like he escaped from the mental asylum. The banter between these two had me laughing up a storm and the secondary characters were just as enjoyable as the main characters.

THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF is a laugh out loud wild ride from start to finish. Ms. Cassidy delivers a story you can’t help but fall in love with and I, for one, can’t wait to check out the other books in the series next. If you love humor with your stories, paranormal delights and more, then grab THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF and settle in for one rollicking ride. I just caution you to not drink or eat while reading this or you may find yourself sputtering and coughing. I look forward to seeing where this author goes in this series in the future.

Wow, what a ride is all I can say. Ms. Cassidy delivers one wild, rollicking ride from start to finish in this introduction to her new series, The Ex Trophy Wives. There was humor, simmering passion, friendship and more laced throughout the story and I have to say, Ms. Cassidy’s writing is absolutely enjoyable. The reader is thrust into the world of where millionaire’s shed wives like a snake sheds it’s skin and when the reader meets Maxine, well lets just say you find yourself wishing you can help this down on her luck trophy wife. The characters are wonderfully intriguing. You have Maxine who has no skills, no job prospects and her life just imploded. Campbell is a very patient man who knows the Maxine he knew in school is still there, he just needed Max to find that girl again. The best friend and Max’s mother, Len and Mona, were a riot. You knew when these two came onto the pages, mayhem was sure to follow.

YOU DROPPED A BLONDE ON ME is a fun read, one that left me giggling at times until tears came down my face. I think my partner kept looking at me with a questionable look as I tried to stifle the laughter at times. Ms. Cassidy definitely blows the lid off her introduction into this new series of hers. I loved that the message that came through in the book was that love a second time around can be complicated, messy but oh so worth it when it is the right kind of love. Ms. Cassidy has become one of this reviewer’s go to author’s whenever I need a pick me up or a story with heart and soul. You know when you pick up one of this author’s books you know you are going to get one wild story that will steal your heart when you are not looking. Now I can’t wait to check out the other books in this delightful series.

If you enjoy a dose of humor, romance and more with your stories, then I highly recommend grabbing this author’s books. I can guarantee you will be a fan for life after reading just one book.

Katie Woods is a vet. She’s forty-one, divorced and doesn’t think she’ll be able to find a new lover. She’s over the hill, right? When she finds an injured cougar on her door step, cages him and returns later to find a hunk of a man in the cage, she might just change her mind. Despite the fact that he looks like he just got out of college and a bunch of real scary ladies show up to help her. Seems like when she got the cougar…man into the cage, he scratch her and now she’s got a paw and some wicked looking teeth. OOPS is here to help her to handle her change and the man she now has to help. He’s lost his memory and doesn’t know how or why he ended up at Katie’s place. With Wanda, Nina, Marty and Casey in her corner she should manage. But what if she not only turns into a cougar herself but becomes a cougar when her hormones go out of control!

This is a real rollercoaster of a story. Dakota Cassidy gives her readers a wild ride. I enjoyed the characters and the premise of this story. This is the first of the Accidental books that I have read and it is a stand-alone story. I had no trouble following the plot or connecting with the other characters. I had to feel sorry for Katie as she had returned to this town and the townspeople were not very friendly towards her. They were a suspicious lot. Now with the upheaval in her life and the arrival of the four very strange women, things were not looking better. I am sure that fans of this series have already devoured this next installment and have enjoyed it. Personally, there was one little thing that stopped me from fully enjoying this book and that was the dialogue. It seemed that everyone was vying to spit out the best and wittiest comments. I was almost dizzy with the bantering and the back and forth volleying of verbal insults and comments. If it had only been one or two persons it would have been better. Still, the love scenes are good, the plot is good and generally it is a good story.

All because she dared to defy Lucifer to save her best friend, she now has to endure endless nothingness. No more shopping, no more sales, no more shoes. Marcella tries to contract her friend through mediums, but they turn out to be nothing but fakes. There is one medium however she hasn’t tried. Kellen is her friend's hot brother, the one guy who despises her, but when he thinks of Marcella, she suddenly appears in front of him. Kellen has inherited psychic abilities and is being bombarded with spirits. Even though Marcella has finally escaped from Plane Drab nothing is going to drag her back. Even if it looks like all hell has broken loose. Marcella and Kellen are discovering that appearances can be deceiving and the ghost and the sexy medium have more in common than they think.

This book carries on from KISS AND HELL which I haven’t read but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this story. It’s a snarky, sassy ride and an enjoyable read. There is a lot of humor, lots of demons, ghosts, including a dog, who possesses different people in order to communicate with Marcella and a hot hero. The dialogue is sharp, sassy and very snarky. I had a smile continually while reading this story. You are kept on your toes all the time wondering what will happen to Marcella. Will she manage to leave Plane Drab? Can she find a way to stay with Kellen? Can she protect a certain little boy from a rogue demon? It’s one wild ride of a story. The only thing that bothered me was the ending. It was exciting and cool, but a teeny, tiny bit of a let-down. This story is a bit of a paranormal chick-lit with Marcella unhappy about not being able to shop and buy new shoes and the such. Although I found this story quite the delight I prefer my paranormals a little darker.

Thanks for having me!

Did you always want to become a writer?

Nope. I wanted to move to Hollywood and sing duets with Barry Manilow. LOL. I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer until I was one.


What is the most, and the least interesting fact about writing?

The most interesting has to be that you can come from anywhere, not have any particular type of degree or schooling and still write a story and get yourself published.

The least interesting fact is probably that I’m not very interesting. LOL

How did you celebrate your first release? What was it like to see your book in a bookstore? Do you have a special ritual for celebrating a book release?

Well, that was back in 2007 with The Accidental Werewolf and I was so crazy nervous, I spent more tie contemplating yarking my lunch up in the bathroom than celebrating. Though, I had an awesome book launch party with all my BFF’s and some fab fans who flew in specifically to attend.

Actually seeing the book in the store made me sob like a two year old who’d had his Gummi Bear privileges revoked. It was scary and awesome all at the same time. And I don’t have a particular ritual, no. I just pray. A. Lot.


How did your family react to fact that you write romance novels? Have your family read your book?

My mom’s read them, my sons, not so much. They’re totally not interested in any kind of romance. And I have to say, everyone was very supportive of my crazy hours and off-balance work schedule. Good thing, or I’d have to fire them and hunt for a new family


Most authors are also avid readers. Is this the case with you? If so, who are some of your favorites? Have any influenced your writing?

OMG—NINA BANGS. She was a huge influence on me because she’s got some pretty whacky, fun concepts. But I love all sorts of authors—Karen Rose, Dean Koontz, Mark Henry, Louisa Edwards, Stephen King, Michele Bardsley—to name a few.

Do you feel each of your characters live with you as you write? Do their lives sometimes take over a part of your life? Can you name an example? Do you have living role models for your characters?

Uh, no. I have too many darned people living with me as it is. More people would just mess stuff up. LOLLOL. My characters are creations from my crazy brain, but I don’t have conversations with them or set a place at the table for them. They definitely have conversations in my head, but not with me. I’m just thinking up dialogue.

Your release calendar is really full, which I love as a fan of your books, do you have a problem with deadlines and have you ever suffered a writers block?

There will be NO writer’s block. None! LOL. It’s a job. I treat it as such. I have slower word count days than others, but I refuse to give in. And thus far, knock on some form of wood, I haven’t missed a single deadline. Now that said, look out for Rapture

Do you prefer stand-alone books or series (As a reader or a writer) ?

Oh, I love them both. I love a series because you have a chance to get to know secondary characters, and I love stand alone’s because sometimes, once really is enough

If you could change places with one character from your book, who would it be and why?

Oh, it’d for sure be Nina from Accidentally Dead. She’s a horrible potty mouth, but she says what she thinks out loud, no matter what. I’d have a field day

What is your favorite book from the books that you have written so far? Who are your favorite hero and heroine, and why?

I can’t choose! They’re all like kids to me—unique and special in their own ways.

Would you like to give another genre a try?

I would. In fact, I am. I’m hitting contemporaries hardcore come December 2010 with Suck It Up, Princess! It’s a three book series based on ex-trophy wives and their readjustment to the world of coupon clipping and Wal-Mart.

Which book was the hardest to write and which the easiest?

The easiest by far was Accidentally Dead. I had a plan and I knew where I was going. Hardest was my July release, My Way To Hell because it involves a little boy—and I can’t tell you what that means.

If you could choose of your books for a movie, which one would it be and who would you as the cast?

Probably the one I’m working on now, Suck It Up, Princess. I’d totally love Sandra Bullock to play Maxine—she’s just nutty enough to pull it off. The hero would have to be John Cusack. He’s enough snarky to handle Maxine’s nuttiness, but he’s also got that goof factor about him—which I LOVE in a man.


Do you listen to music while you are writing and if so what music is it?

I do and it has to be music without words or I sing along. I do a lot of classical, movie scores and Kenny G.


Big congrats to your latest release Kiss and Hell, can you please tell us something about the book?

Thank you! Kiss and Hell’s about a medium named Delaney Markham who owns an herb store (and lives with six dogs) and when times are tough, does the occasional séance for cash—because she really can talk to the dead. During a séance, Clyde Atwell, a demon, shows up and informs her he’s supposed to bring her to Satan. But not everything’s what it appears, and do-gooder Delaney falls in love with demon Clyde. Then they typical mayhem and madness occurs.


Are you working on anything right now, and can you tell us a teaser about these projects?

As of this moment I’m working on my contemporary series. The first is Suck It Up, Princess and it’s about a woman in her forties who’s left with no money, a son to support, not a job skill in sight other than arranging canapés on a platter, and ends up living with her mother in a senior citizens retirement village. Again, more mayhem and madness while Maxine learns to suck it up.

Now she plans to hunt him down, so that he can turn her back into a human. What she didn’t count on is the sparks that are flying between the hot Gregori and her. The battle of wills is ready to break out. She believes that there is a way for her to become mortal again, whereas he forces her to accept the world of vampires. But all of this is doesn’t matter any longer, when she discovers that life is in danger. Nina joins forces with him.

Ms. Cassidy delivers with ACCIDENTALLY DEAD, another laugh out loud funny book that you won’t be able to put down once you started. The book is a perfect example for her specific kind of humor, so if you need a book to brighten up the dark winter days, you’ve got right one with ACCIDENTALY DEAD.

I had a few problems with Nina’s character at the beginning, because she wasn’t very likable to me, she was just too much for me. It was fun to finally met the real Nina behind the tough hard-nosed exterior. She already grew on me and I really liked her in the end.

The whole story line is fast-paced and you never have a boring moment in this book, there is always something happening.

ACCIDENTALLY DEAD is the sequel of THE ACCDIDENTAL WEREWOLF, but the book can be read as a stand-alone. Although you might want to pick up the first book, which tells the story of Nina’s friend, Marty. I really hope that Wanda will also get her own story. She promises to be another interesting character and I am wondering what she will be in the end.
