Jove Books, August 2013
Paperback

ISBN
: 0515152854 (ISBN13: 9780515152852)
Paranormal Romance

Jayne Castle’s DECEPTION COVE is romance, fantasy, paranormal abilities, giant mutant insects, aliens and dust bunnies, yes dust bunnies.  What more could you ask for?

On Rainshadow Island, two dangerous alien crystals have gone missing, creating a paranormal storm that is threatening the stability of the island.  Drake Sebastian’s eyesight was severely impacted in a lab accident and he is now day-blind.  Yet he can see light-talent Alice North when she disappears as part of her magic act with her dust bunny Houdini.  Thinking Alice may have some clue as to the whereabouts of the missing crystals since one of her dead relatives had history with the crystals (along with one of Drake’s relatives), Drake enters into a Marriage of Convenience with Alice to protect her from her ex-husband’s stalking psycho mother before bringing her to Rainshadow Island to find the crystals and save the day.

Jayne Castle’s DECEPTION COVE is a fun and whimsical paranormal romance.  It takes place in an alternative universe where technology no longer functions.  Long gone alien technology is everywhere and can be quite dangerous as the inhabitants of Rainshadow Island have found.  The characters are interesting; an orphaned heroine with a dust bunny for a pet and a wealthy and influential day-blind fellow light-talent.  The evil villainess was colorful and more than held her own in the drama department.  The storyline was a bit predictable.  But who doesn’t enjoy giant mutant insects, dust bunnies and alien technology?

All in all, DECEPTION COVE is yet another relaxing and entertaining paranormal romance from the incredibly prolific Jayne Castle (aka JA Krentz).

The final book in the Looking Glass Trilogy from Jayne Castle (aka Jayne Ann Krentz), CANYONS OF NIGHT, is paranormal mystery mixed with romance that Castle/Krentz fans are sure to enjoy.

Charlotte Enright has inherited Looking Glass Antiques from her recently departed aunt and moved home to Rainshadow Island to run it. Slade Attridge has also come home to Rainshadow Island to become the new chief of police after an accident puts his paranormal abilities in question. Charlotte has had a crush on Slade since the time when as a teenager Slade saved her from a gang of drunken trouble. Fifteen years later, they are both back and the attraction is undeniable. It also seems that they have something in common; they both have strong paranormal talents, which will come in handy when danger crops up at a mysterious and forbidden part of the island known as the Preserve and Charlotte and Slade are drawn into the investigation.

Jayne Castle’s latest paranormal mystery/romance is a coming home love story with magic and mystery intertwined throughout. The storyline is intriguing, the romance sweet and the setting has just the right amount of mystery surrounding it to keep readers enthralled. The paranormal aspects of the book add a certain something to both the mystery of the Preserve and the building romance between Charlotte and Slade. The Preserve and its secrets leave even the most cautious questioning.

CANYONS of NIGHT is simply an easy and enjoyable read that will leave readers pondering. For a late summer book release, Jayne Castle’s CANYONS OF NIGHT may just be the book for you.
