Coleman Wilder is a half-breed, half wolf/half human and is battling each other inside of him. He is determined to not act like a savage wolf but it is hard when he feels like he is on the edge of being torn apart. As a gay man in a conservative town, Coleman keeps his head down and runs his business…until he meets a sexy horse shifter then his whole world is torn apart. For horse shifter Jonah Marks, Coleman is his sanctuary, his safe place after a year of being abused and stuck in his horse shape. But trouble is looming as Jonah and Coleman are forced to defend themselves, their love and the farm against a group of people who are determined to destroy the couple and others like them forever.

Silvia Violet delivers a story that is both emotional and loving at the same time. In FINDING RELEASE, we meet Coleman and Jonah, friends yet Coleman is determined to deny the feelings he has for Jonah as he feels Jonah needs to experience the world outside Cranford, Tennessee. What happens next is something neither anticipates and Jonah is presumed missing for over a year…until he shows up in front of Coleman in horse form, abused, full of scars and just about the end of his humanity complete. Silvia Violet captures the heartache, the pain of the abuse and how it lingers in someone as well as the healing power of love so beautifully, it brings tears to your eyes. Both men give the other something they so desperately need and they grow stronger as they face the evil that is Jonah’s brother and mother. The story flows smoothly, the characters are multi-dimensional and the few twists in the story leave you gasping as you flip the pages quickly to see what happens next.

FINDING RELEASE is more than a man meets man as they fall in love and live happily ever after. This is about forgiveness, of love in all its many splendid forms and strength to face your demons even as you feel your knees shake as you confront them. Silvia Violet conjures wide open spaces, sexy men on horses and all that encompasses a cowboy. FINDING RELEASE is a story that leaves you breathless even as you race to see when book two comes out on the author’s website. Run-don’t walk-to grab this emotionally rich story and settle in for an afternoon of sexy cowboys & shape-shifters. I look forward to seeing where this author takes this new series and hope you can join the ride as well.

When Blake Theriot sees his new next door neighbor, he turns into a stuttering fool. Never has a man caught his fancy as kilt wearing Greg MacIntyre has. When Blake’s niece finagles Blake to invite Greg for dinner, sparks fly and with a shot of whiskey courage, kisses Greg. But can Blake relax long enough to say more than one word answers to Greg and finally let the one man he lusts for inside his heart?

Wow is all I can say when I finished ASTRONOMICAL. It was sweet, funny at times and had some very hot moments that I swore was going to turn my e-reader into a flaming mess. Ms. Violet delivers a story of two geeks falling for one another, though with a little help from a meddling twin sister and her daughter to keep things interesting. The writing is tight, story flows swiftly and the characters fairly leap off the pages-so life-like they are. Ms. Violet has a way of creating a romantic tale between two (or more) people and isn’t afraid to show her characters hidden vulnerabilities. I got to admit, the way she captures her characters completely leaves me speechless.

Meet Blake, a research librarian at a local college and yes, he freely admits he is a geek and proud of it. He likes things controlled, orderly way that has made him lose several boyfriends in the past. When he meets his new neighbor, his fantasies take off and frankly, Greg is one hot man in a kilt. Can this controlled man find a way to let himself relax around Greg? I loved Blake. He was nerdy, sweet and vulnerable with a submissive side that came out with Greg. His connection to Greg delighted me as Greg was so alpha male in looks that it was a surprise to see that he also enjoyed letting Blake take over in sex. The characters are very well written with a few secondary characters that had me giggling at times. The sparks between these two main characters was fun to behold especially since they didn’t jump right into bed together and that slow build up made the story so much more enjoyable to me.

ASTRONOMICLE is a fun, sweet story that will leave a smile on your face. If you are looking for a short, enjoyable read, give this one a try by Silvia Violet. I highly recommend it if you need to heat up a cold weekend afternoon. All I can ask is, will there be more of Blake and Greg in the future?

This is an objective review.

For deer shifter Jason Fleetfoot, his relationship to Vampire detective Drew Danvers is one of the best things that happened to him. Who knew a deer shifter and a vampire would click together like this? But when Drew asks him to marry him, Jason is shocked…vampires don’t do long term or marriage. But when Jason’s sister Natalie goes nuts on planning a wedding, Jason wishes he gave into Drew’s plea to elope. Between a wedding gone wild to a serial killer taking out vampires by curdling their blood, Jason is worried Drew won’t make it to the wedding much less the honeymoon.

I absolutely adore Silvia Violet’s Protect and Serve stories in this multi-author series. She infuses her stories with some humor, lots of lovin’ and amazing characters. In the sequel to Sex on a Hoof, we find Jason and Drew celebrating their anniversary and dealing with a vampire killer as well. Returning characters from the other books (Savage Wolf & Paws on Me) pop in as well which made this reviewer very happy.  The writing is tight, story moves along at a nice pace and there were a few twists that had me flipping the pages quickly to see what would happen next. The sex was scorching hot and I suggest having your significant other or ice near by to help cool you down.

Meet Jason and Drew. Been together a year and Jason is anxious to celebrate their anniversary. He never anticipated Drew’s marriage proposal. When Jason’s sister goes hog wild on wedding planning, Jason wishes he had listened to Drew and eloped. But then a killer starts killing vampires and Drew along with Jason, a police CSI tech, race to figure out who is doing the killing because Jason fears Drew is next on the killer’s list. I loved Jason and Drew in Sex on a Hoof and was thrilled to see them make a repeat appearance in HOOFIN’ IT TO THE ALTER. Ms. Violet creates such amazing characters that are well defined, intriguing and able to steal my heart. I love how she gives them room to play, grow and love in a story. This is an author who has a knack of creating characters that grow with each story they are in, as main players or secondary characters. The world building is wonderful and you get a sense of how and who populate this town.

HOOFIN’ IT TO THE ALTER is a fun, sexy tale with some humor, scorching passion and a love that will leave you breathless. If you are looking for an author to enjoy, I highly recommend any of Silvia Violet’s books to get lost in. I am really hoping this author comes back to her three sets of characters in the future.

When Jake Sanders comes home for the Christmas holidays, the last thing on his mind is seeing his crush from high school again. All he wanted to do was enjoy his family even as he tries to heal from a bad romance that left him doubting himself and his ability to trust anyone again. But this is the season of miracles and if Jake lets himself believe in himself, he just might find the perfect Christmas present in Ben.

Silvia Violet delivers a wonderful Christmas themed story that readers will fall in love with. The story flowed smoothly and the characters were center stage. I fell in love with Jake the minute he stepped onto the first page. He had a wounded air about him as he tried to forget his ex-boyfriend and let himself heal from that toxic relationship with his family. But of course, the reader could tell his mother knew all about his crush on Ben and that she wanted Jake to go out to see him. I absolutely adored Jake’s family. They were a tight knit clan, with parents who loved Jake and a sister who adored him. The author does a marvelous job in creating tenseness as Jake wrestles with his emotions and feelings, confused and aroused at the same time when he finally gets the nerve to see Ben, who owns the local bakery. The secondary characters are enjoyable, entertaining and keeps the story moving along nicely. I enjoyed the banter Jake had with a few of them. It made the story more life-like in my opinion, while I was reading it.

All I can say is get those fans ready because those sex scenes in ONE KISS are scorching hot. I think I ran outside to cool off after reading one scene and wishing for something cold to drink. This is an author who really gets creative in a few scenes and I am warning you in advance to either get the shower ready or jump your significant other.

Silvia Violet’s ONE KISS is a tender, seductive story of following your heart and finding the strength to let yourself believe in love again. With the right amount of angst, sex and romance, the reader is treated to a beautiful told story that will make you wish snow was falling and a roaring fire was in front of them. I look forward to seeing what else this author has up her sleeve for her beloved readers in the future.

Jason Fleetfoot has gotten his life back after having to almost bite the bullet, so to speak and now has a good job working in the police crime lab where he utilizes his knowledge of chemistry and computers for the good guys. Life is good until he meets Drew Danvers. Vampire, cop and a man Jason is determined to stay away…if only he could. Jason lusts after Drew but can a deer shifter really find happiness with a vampire?

Ms. Violet comes back to Jason Fleetfoot who she introduced to readers in SAVAGE WOLF, another Protect & Serve story. SEX ON THE HOOF is a sexy, wild ride from start to finish. Ms. Violet does a wonderful job in her first MM book to deliver a seductive story full of action-in and out of the bed-, a lust demon running amuck, danger and a budding romance amid its pages. The writing is tight, sex scenes smoking hot and the storyline flows at a nice, even pace.

We met Jason Fleetfoot in SAVAGE WOLF and now here is his story. Jason has cleaned up his act; his sister’s lover, Wolf, got him a job at the CSI lab where Wolf works as a police officer and life is finally going well. He just wasn’t expecting to fall into lust with Drew Danvers, the vampire police officer, who Jason wants with a passion, even as he tries to stay away. Vampires are bad for your health as everyone knows but Jason likes to take risks…even as he gets involved in Drew’s secret investigation that may get him killed! I absolutely loved Jason and Drew together. They have so much chemistry, it sears the brain. They literally melt the screen whenever they are together and I loved every minute of it. There is such a connection between the two, that I could really see their romance playing out in my head. The secondary characters are great and I was absolutely thrilled to see returning characters, Wolf and Natalie (Jason’s sister) from SAVAGE WOLF make an appearance.

SEX ON THE HOOF is a fun, hot story that will heat your day up in a satisfying way. If you like vampires and shape shifters, then you won’t want to miss the pairing of a vampire and a deer shifter together. Perfect combination if done right and this author writes it beautifully. I am eager to see what is next in the Protect and Serve series and what this author has in store for her readers in the future. I just hope we won’t have to wait too long for it.

Guest Author Day with Silvia Violet & a Contest

Contest information is at end of interview.

How long did it take to write the story? From the day you came up with the idea to the very last day of writing.
My latest release, Astronomical, is approximately 27,000 words long, and it took me eight weeks from start to finish.

Tell us about your latest release/Upcoming release.
Astronomical was just released. It is part of the A Mind is a Sexy Thing collection at Silver Publishing. I love geeky men with sexy minds (as proven by the fact that I've been married to one for fifteen years) and I'm thrilled to be part of this celebration of all things geeky. Here's more about my story:

When sexy, kilt-wearing astronomy professor Greg MacIntyre moves in next door, Blake Theriot knows he's in trouble. Blake is a research librarian, and he likes things orderly and controlled. But in his secret fantasies, he craves a big, powerful man like Greg to stir up his life.

Every time Blake tries to talk to his erudite neighbor, his brain shuts down and his vocabulary is reduced to one-word utterances, but when Blake's niece challenges him to invite Greg to dinner, he does. A few shots of after-dinner whiskey loosen Blake's inhibitions, and the two men share a hot kiss and the promise of more. Can Blake relax enough to give himself a chance with Greg, or will his fear of letting go ruin his hopes for love?

What made you want to write?
I've always loved telling stories and creating worlds inhabited by interesting characters. Writing gives me the chance to share these characters with other people.

What authors do enjoy reading in your downtime?
I have so many I won't be able to name them all, but some of my favorite m/m authors are Josh Lanyon, Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux, Hank Edwards, and SJD Peterson. I also reads lots of YA and kids books as well as sic fi, some classics, and the occasional mystery. Some of my favorite authors are Janet Evanovich, Laurell K. Hamilton, JK Rowling, and PG Wodehouse.

How important is the beginning chapter - the opening - the first few lines?
For me as a reader the first few pages of a book are very important. If I like the book blurb, then I'll read the first few pages, if available, and see what I think of the author's writing style. If those pages pull me in, I'll buy the book. So in my writing I work hard to make the beginning of the book draw readers in.

In what order do you write? For example starting beginning to end, combining parts, in random order or in development cycle?
In most cases I write straight through from beginning to end. That works better for me than skipping around, but occasionally a scene from later in the book is so vivid that I go ahead and get it down before I forget it.

Do you plot out each chapter? Or are you a seat of the pants writer?
I make a vague outline so I know where the book is going and then start writing. As I get a chapter or so in, I'll make more detailed outline of the next few chapters. Then I'll write some more and then do some more outlining. If I try to plan the whole book, I'll end up veering off course rapidly so it isn't worth the time involved but if I have no plan at all, I get antsy since in most aspects of my life I am planner and a list-maker.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so what are your favorites Artists and or albums?
For many of my stories there is a song (or a few songs) that help me get in the mood to write. I'll listen to that song and sometimes others come to mind, and I build a playlist. But during certain aspects of writing, like turning my messy first draft into something truly readable, music distracts me too much.

Out of all your characters which one do you identify the most with and why?
That a hard question because there are certain traits I identify with in many of my characters, but if I had to pick one, Blake from Astronomical is a good option. He like his life neat and organized but he also feels confined by the need to control things. If I had my way, everything in my life would run by all my lists on my schedule, but trying to make that happen is far too exhausting and stressful.

Out of all your books, do you have a favorite book/character(s)? What is it about that particular book/character that you enjoy so much?
I love all my characters, especially by the time I finish telling their stories, but one that stands out is Seth from Paws on Me. I love him because he can be grumpy and demanding but when he has a chance at love, he embraces it full on.

Do you have a book that you you just cringe? If so, which one is it, and why?
Twilight, because I have two daughters and I don't want them to ever let a boy/man treat them the way Edward treats Bella.

What are your writing goals for the future?
To keep honing my writing skills so that each book I write is better than the one before it and to find the right balance between writing and the rest of my life.

Now a few fun questions:

How would you describe yourself using only five words? loyal, domestic, creative, friendly, determined

If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say?
Things Are Not What They Seem

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Krispy Kreme doughnuts

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
I homeschool my kids.

If you could go any place in the world and to any time period, what place or time period would you choose to visit?
Jane Austen's England because Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite book.

What is your favorite super power and why do you want it?
The ability to make time stand still and/or to go back in time. If I had this power, I could write more stories and manage to do all the things I want to fit into each day.

CONTEST INFORMATION: Please leave a comment, question for Silvia-with your email address in case you win-for a chance to win any e-book from her back list. Contest closes May 3rd.

Unedited Excerpt:

The front door banged open, making me jump. I muttered a curse as I looked at the spaghetti sauce I'd splattered on my shirt. I'd have to change before I headed to work.
"Blake, are you in the kitchen?"
"Yeah."
My sister's shoes made a swishing sound as she walked through the living room and into the kitchen. "It smells great."
"Thanks." I answered absently as I looked through the spice rack for cayenne.
"Have you been outside lately?"
I shook my head. Renee had a conspiratorial tone in her voice that told me trouble was coming. I focused on the sauce. I would not fall prey to her scheme, whatever it was.
"You should come check out the view."
"What?" I tasted the sauce and added more pepper. "Why?"
"When you told me your new neighbor was an astronomy professor, I imagined someone even geekier than you."
Heat rose to my cheeks like it did every time I thought about Dr. Greg MacIntyre. No one had caused such a strong a reaction in me in years. The man was truly devastating. Tall and beefy with wavy red-gold hair I longed to run my hands through, preferably while on my back throwing my legs over his shoulders. No need to choose between brains and brawn with him.
But during the few conversations we'd had, I babbled like a fool in response to his erudite remarks. If Greg was gay—and he'd given me no solid reason to believe he was—he wasn't going to want a drooling imbecile for a partner.
Renee started to say something else, but she was interrupted by her daughter, Haley, rushing into the kitchen. "Hey, mom. I thought I heard you come in."
Renee was raising Haley on her own and she worked three night shifts a week as a nurse in pediatric intensive care. Haley usually spent those nights with me and occasionally hung out with me for a few hours the day after Renee's last shift so her mom could catch up on sleep or run some errands.
Haley turned pleading eyes on me. "Dr. MacIntyre is outside. Can I go meet him now?"
My shirt was stained. I'd overslept and raced out the door without shaving or doing anything to tame my curly hair. I was rushing to get dinner made because I'd agreed to fill in for someone at the main campus library and had to go back to work.
But Haley had been anxious to meet Greg since he moved in a week ago. She loved astronomy and all the mind-boggling math it required. She'd seen Greg setting up a telescope in his backyard and hoped he'd let her take a look in it. I couldn't deny her the chance to meet a real live astrophysicist, especially one so well-respected that LSU had lured him away from Berkley for their Advanced Gamma Ray Survey Mission. I wasn't sure exactly what the program's professors did, but their work sounded impressive and expensive.
I sighed. I'd already made an ass of myself with Greg, what difference did it make how I looked?
"Sure. Just let me—" Before I finished my sentence, Haley shot out the door. I nearly busted my ass racing after her. Renee laughed as I stumbled down the porch steps.
When I reached the yard, my heart nearly stopped. Greg was indeed outside, up a ladder, fixing a broken gutter, wearing nothing but a utility kilt. A fucking kilt. Could he get any more perfect?
I stared, frozen to the spot. My mouth watered as I took in his muscular legs, his round ass, the broad expanse of his back. He reached up to hook the gutter back in place, and I bit my lip to hold in a groan at the sight of his muscles flexing.
"Uncle Blake?"
Haley snapped me out of my trance.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
"Uh…yeah. I'm fine."
Her lips turned up in a mischievous grin. "You like him, don't you?"
"Who?"
She rolled her eyes. "Dr. MacIntyre."
I prayed her loud whisper hadn't carried across the yard. "He's a nice man."
"Right."
Not a conversation I wanted to continue. "Come on. Let me introduce you."
As we got closer, I had to resist the urge to look up Greg's kilt. Sweat rolled down my temples as I wondered whether he was naked under there. At least in the Louisiana heat, everyone was sweaty.
