Vicki Lewis Thompson’s WEREWOLF IN ALASKA is a light and entertaining tale of overcoming prejudice and finding happiness.

Sculptor Rachel Miller and werewolf Jake Hunter live across a lake from each other in Polecat, Alaska where they share a love/hate relationship.  Rachel loves watching Jake skinny dip at night, but has a problem with his standoffish manner.  Jake is drawn to Rachel after purchasing one of her first sculptures, a wolf that looks surprisingly like Jake in his shifted form.  But he refuses to act on his interest because more than anything else, Jake believes a relationship between shifters and humans is dead wrong.  Then Jake stops a bear attack on Rachel, ends up wounded and in her care and things between them are forever changed.

Vicki Lewis Thompson’s WEREWOLF IN ALASKA is a quick, light and witty romance with just enough paranormal fun to make it interesting.  But it also has an underlying story of overcoming prejudice that colors the entire story.  While Rachel’s character is easy to like and root for, Jake’s character’s strong stance on keeping his werewolf bloodline pure make is far harder to like some of the decisions he makes and things he says to Rachel before he realizes he can’t live without her, human or not.

WEREWOLF IN ALASKA is howling good fun for all ages.

Fish and Wildlife officer Jacintha is called to a shelter to retrieve a cat, but that turns out to be a very big cat, namely a vampire called Avery, who was turned into a jaguar against will.

This one was my least favorite story of the anthology, because I couldn’t get into the story. The characters weren’t likeable, but maybe the reason is that I don’t know the rest of the series “Dark Ones”, maybe I would have enjoyed the story more if I had know the other books

Cat Scratch Fever by Connie Brockway

Edith is a geeky scientist, who has a crush on a colleague, but is too shy to act on it. This is where the magical cat from the Cupid Cat shelter enters the stage, she helps to get them together with the help of his little daughter.

Cat Scratch Fever was the cutest story and was so much fun to read. A really enjoyable read for not Connie Brockway fans.

A cat’s game by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Kate Archer agreed to take care of her sister’s B&B while she is on vacation, but what she doesn’t know is that her old flame is living there. Add a feline matchmaker and the chaos is perfect.

I am huge fan of Vicki Lewis Thompson stories and A cat’s game was no disappointment. It’s a great story with lovable characters who the reader can easily identify with.

All three stories have a magical cat from the Cupid cat shelter in common. I think that was a great idea and most of the time it was great mixture of romance and magic. Its fun to read the book.

Although she doesn’t really believe in them Emma Gavin is a successful author of novels about werewolves. The last thing she thinks of is that she could actually meet one. But when her books catch the attention of a powerful and rich pack of Manhattan werewolves, she does just that in the form of Aidan Wallace. It seems she has described the lives of werewolves so well that the Wallace family is sure she is getting some inside information and she needs to be watched. Aidan spend three months watching the woman but doesn’t find any proof that she is meeting secretly with a werewolf. Still, he gets close to Emma and finds out that a werewolf wants to meet her and show her just exactly how true her stories are and it’s his job to stop him and keep the world from knowing that werewolves live among them. What he didn’t expect is his attraction to Emma. An attraction he can’t act upon as he is promised to another. So, his choice is…give in to the attraction and risk the security of the pack, or walk away from Emma when the job is done!

I absolutely loved this story. I couldn’t put it down and was pleased to be able to have the time to read it in one sitting. I loved the characters, the plot, the clever dialogue, the secondary characters, the action. This story has it all. It is an engrossing story and all the time I was rooting for Emma and Aidan that they could finally get their happy ending. The story twists and turns and keeps the reader riveted. It is also a very sensual story and the sexual tension is high between our hero and heroine. I must now start glomming the previous books and watch out for new ones. I just found out that there is an e-book coming out which is a story that bridges this one and the next paperback that is coming out.

I am sure that all of Ms Thompson’s fans have already devoured this story and I can highly recommend this for any fans of werewolf stories. This is going on my keeper shelf and when I can find the time, I will certainly read it again. I hope I can add the others soon!

Cupid Cats is the name of a cat shelter where the cats play a large part in bringing love to unsuspecting couples.

Katie MacAlister kicks off the anthology with Unleashed. In this story a shape-shifting vampire is found at the shelter by a wild life officer. He recognizes her as his mate, but she needs to be convinced. Then there are the villains who are illegally selling wild animals for hunting.

This is a fun story and typical of this author. Here we have a very different take on vampires and weres. Add in a heroine who can hold her own and you have novelette that gives you lots of smiles. I really enjoyed this story and have enjoyed many of Katie MacAlisters stories.

Next up is Connie Brockway’s Cat Scratch Fever. Here we have a very intelligent, socially impaired shelter owner and a widower who is not sure he is ready for love. His daughter becomes enamored with an old cat who refuses to leave the shelter so they visit every day. Love blossoms, but will it survive?

I loved this story. It’s very entertaining and emotional. The heroine reminded me of Dr. Brennan from Bones and it was amusing to see her stumble through her conversations with people. I highly enjoyed this story and thought it was the best of the bunch.

Last, but not least, Vicki Lewis Thompson gives us an enjoyable story in A Cat’s Game. Here, two high school sweethearts are brought together through a magical cat from the shelter who carries condoms. The shelter owner also seems to be rather magical too.

This is another fun story in this anthology that will capture you and hold you until the last page. Ms. Thompson gives her readers a story that will reach into your heart. The characters are adorable, especially the cat and I enjoyed following them all to their happy ever after, in spite of the obstacles thrown in their way.

This is a really nice anthology with each story a fantastic read. If you enjoy cats and a really good love story with some hot moments, then do pick this one up. You will not regret it.
