After Sterling Chase met Tavia Fairchild in the previous book “Deeper than midnight” their story continues. When they meet again she is shocked that he is a vampire and to make matters even worse for her she is one, too, a Gen One, a first generation vampire. Her true self was repressed by meds, because someone had bigger plans for her. The people she trusted most, betrayed her. Tavia’s life is in great danger and the only safe place is the Order compound.

Chase planned to disappear, but before he was able to do that Tavia arrived at the compound and somehow he can’t stay away from her. Everything in her screams that she should stay a way from him, but she can’t resist the attraction that rages between them.

I have been a fan of this series since the first book was released and I couldn’t wait for this book to be released and I wasn’t disappointed. The book was a real page turner. Sterling Chase was already in the previous book a fascinating character and this time he was a great hero. Well done. Ms. Adrian.

DARKER AFTER MIDNIGHT is the tenth book in Lara Adrian’s famous Midnight Breed series and I highly recommend to read the books of this series in the right reading order, not only because for your reading pleasure but also because the stories are strongly connected. Sterling Chase gets finally his happy end and many more plotlines come to a satisfying end. Ms. Adrian brings certain plotlines to an end, but opens up many more.

I am looking forward to read the next book in the series “Edge of Dawn”.

Jenna Riley’s life is full of sport due to the fact that her brothers are professional athletes and she herself runs the family’s sport bar, so she made a promise “Never to date an athlete”. But all her well meant plans are turned upside down when the star hockey play Tyler Anderson enters her bar. Ty sees her as a challenge and tries everything to persuade her that he is the right man for her.

TAKING THE SHOT is a book that doesn’t only makes the heart of sport romances fans beat faster, but this book is one heck of a hot story. This real page turner had me glued to the pages. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I tell you that will want to catch up on Jenna’s siblings and their stories if you haven’t already done that.

Jenna is a great heroine, who is sassy and gives Ty a really hard time. The funny dialogues are part of what makes the book such a great story.

The Play by Play series combines great sport with hot love stories in the best way. It was also fun to see the other Rileys and their spouses again. The family dynamics are hilarious. I really hope that there will be many more books in this series, because Ms. Burton writes these sport romances like no other.

HEART JOURNEY by Robin D. Owens

Raz Cherry has discovered who his heartmate is, but he isn’t ready to settle down, because he sees the big breakthrough in his actor career just ahead of him, plus he is a man who loves all women and can’t see himself settled down with just one of them.

Helena D’Elecampane aka Del is cartographer and goes wherever her wanderlust takes her, but now she comes back to the city to claim her heartmate. An interesting courtship begins.

Ms. Owens always take the readers onto a beautiful journey to Celta, I love the whole world-building that is behind the story and it is also always great fun to meet beloved characters from the previous books again.

In Heart Journey the author concentrate a little bit more on the heroine, which I find a quite interesting difference to the other books. She is a really strong and tough heroine, but vulnerable at certain moments. Raz is a carefree rake, who needs the perfect woman to tame him, at least a little.

HEART JOURNEY can be read as a stand-alone, but I have to tell you that Ms. Owens writing style is highly addictive and that you will want to pick up the rest of the Celta books

Altogether I can not only recommend HEART JOURNEY but the whole Celta series, because it is one of the best series ever written in this genre and one of my all-time favorites. I hope that many more books will be released in this series.

Selene is the only female member of the Shadow Guard and daughter of Cleopatra, she has been under spelling spell under the tower of London because she sacrificed herself to save the people of London. Rourke the ravenmaster persuades the Queen to free Selene and is assigned to be a personal guard. She is under surveillance because she is accused of murdering not only a prostitute but also one of Rourke’s men. Rourke has been interested in her for a long time, will he be able to proof her innocence

I have to confess that Selene wasn’t one of my favorite characters in the previous books of this series, but this book definitely changed my opinion of her, because it shows a completely different side of her. She is truly a quite unique heroine.

Rourke was an really interesting character, too, and it was fun to see how the relationship between them developed.

Kim Lenox has a talent to combine suspenseful/gothic and romantic elements with each other. I really liked the historical setting of the novel very much, because it was the perfect time period for this story.

This is the last book of the Shadow Guard series and I highly recommend that you read the first two books, Night falls darkly and So still the night, prior reading this one. The book and the whole series is a keeper, you don’t want to miss out on.

DARKER THAN NIGHT is a book that neither paranormal nor gothic fan want to miss, because it is a real pageturner.

Fish and Wildlife officer Jacintha is called to a shelter to retrieve a cat, but that turns out to be a very big cat, namely a vampire called Avery, who was turned into a jaguar against will.

This one was my least favorite story of the anthology, because I couldn’t get into the story. The characters weren’t likeable, but maybe the reason is that I don’t know the rest of the series “Dark Ones”, maybe I would have enjoyed the story more if I had know the other books

Cat Scratch Fever by Connie Brockway

Edith is a geeky scientist, who has a crush on a colleague, but is too shy to act on it. This is where the magical cat from the Cupid Cat shelter enters the stage, she helps to get them together with the help of his little daughter.

Cat Scratch Fever was the cutest story and was so much fun to read. A really enjoyable read for not Connie Brockway fans.

A cat’s game by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Kate Archer agreed to take care of her sister’s B&B while she is on vacation, but what she doesn’t know is that her old flame is living there. Add a feline matchmaker and the chaos is perfect.

I am huge fan of Vicki Lewis Thompson stories and A cat’s game was no disappointment. It’s a great story with lovable characters who the reader can easily identify with.

All three stories have a magical cat from the Cupid cat shelter in common. I think that was a great idea and most of the time it was great mixture of romance and magic. Its fun to read the book.
