Winner of The Most Romantic Love Scene is......

HELENA FAIRFAX'S The Antique Love...Congratulations Helena!

Here is the winning entry in Love Romances and More Reviews first ever Most Romantic Love Scene Contest.....

Title:  The Antique Love
Author:  Helena Fairfax

A small bead of perspiration trickled down Penny’s back.   The stone stairs that led up to the Piazzale Michelangelo were never-ending, and the early evening air was hot and dusty.

Why on earth am I doing this? she asked herself, allowing a giggling group of teenagers to overtake her.  She’d had an odd call from Tehmeena that morning, asking her to take a photo of the sunset over Florence.  And it had to be taken from the top of the longest climb in probably all of Italy.  It would be romantic, Tehmeena had promised her, and wasn’t she looking for romance?  Penny just snorted.

She’d just spent a week in Venice—the most romantic city in Europe—photographing everything she saw, only to realise that for her, romance must be dead.  She’d stood in St Mark’s Square and felt nothing.  She doubted Michelangelo’s square was going to make her feel any better.

There was a small crowd milling in the enormous, dusty Piazza when she finally reached the top.  She pulled out her camera and made her way to the stone balustrade on the western side to where the sun was making its descent.

“Actually, this was worth the climb,” she admitted grudgingly.  To the west flowed the River Arno, with its three ancient stone bridges arching gracefully across, and a little beyond was the magnificent red dome of the Duomo Cathedral.  A row of tall ochre and red stone buildings lined the river.  Penny put her elbows on the wall and leaned out.  A faint breeze stirred the warm air.  The sun was sinking lower over the horizon, the gathering dusk creeping in softly behind it. The reflections of the city lights were beginning to ripple in the waters of the river.

A footstep behind her caused her to stiffen.  She hoped she wouldn’t have to fend off any male attention.  Since she’d arrived in Italy, she’d noted with irony that just when she’d decided to devote her life to being a spinster and a mad cat lady, men seemed to pop up from all over the place intent on getting to know her.  She was forever fending off advances.

She turned a cold shoulder and leaned further over the wall.

The steps came nearer, and she caught a familiar scent.  Like the skin on fresh apples.  Her breath caught in her throat.

“Penny.”

She whirled round at the sound of his voice, dropping her camera to the ground.  The leather case hit the stones with an expensive thud.  It was no dream.  He was standing there in front of her, a little leaner, the shadows a little deeper under his eyes.  She stared, not speaking.

He took another step forward.  “Tehmeena told me where you were.  I had to see you before it was too late.  I wanted to tell you…”  He took a breath.

In the mad whirl of her thoughts, Penny noted he had a slim, rectangular box in one hand, and that the fingers holding it were clenched tight.  His eyes were steady on hers.

“I wanted to tell you before it was too late that I love you.  And when I saw the room you made for me, I thought…that gave me hope that I might not have ruined everything.  I love you beyond distraction.  I love you, Penny Rosas, and the thought I may have lost you has me half-crazed.”  His words came in a trembling rush, so unlike his usual measured tones.  His eyes stayed fixed on hers.  She didn’t speak.  He took another step forward.

“I brought you this,” he said, holding the box out slowly.  “But if you tell me you don’t want it…”

He was near enough now for Penny to make out the pulse beating quickly under the warm skin of his throat. He extended his hand, and she reached out her own to take the box from him wordlessly.

“If you tell me you don’t want it, I’ll leave.  But after that, I don’t know what the hell I’ll do.”

There was a whiteness to his lips and in the faint lines around his nostrils.

Penny lifted the lid of the box.  Some crumpled tissue paper and then the dying rays of the sun caught a cluster of tiny rose diamonds.  She lifted the jewels in a hand that was suddenly shaking.  Two shimmering pearls caught in a silver heart.  The love token.

She raised her eyes to Kurt’s, brimming with tears of wonder.  “How…?” she asked.  The words caught in her throat.  She held the box away from her as though it were unreal.

“I wanted you to have your dream.”  He turned his head to take in the sunset and the lights of the city below them.  “I begged Tehmeena to get you to come here.  I wanted to ask you to marry me, and I wanted it to be perfect.”  His gaze roved her face and fastened on her wide eyes.  “I wanted it to be romantic for you.  I was scared I’d left it too late.”

Her eyes dropped to the love token in her hands.  The silver chain played out through her fingers.

“I want you to know how much I love you,” he said again, taking a step forward.

Her head lifted quickly, her eyes brimming with unimaginable joy, and she almost leapt forward into his arms.  His hands fastened around her, and his mouth was on hers, gently at first. Then his arms tightened, his hungry mouth devoured her, and she gasped with the most delicious burst of golden euphoria lifting and swirling her body.

A passing group whistled.  He drew back, looking down at her.

“What an idiot I’ve been,” he said, a tremor in his voice.  “I was frightened of losing you.  So frightened of ending up half-crazed, I was out of my senses.  I’m sorry I hurt you.”

She reached a hand up to his lips.  “Is this a dream?” she asked softly.  He shook his head.  The well of happiness within filled to overflowing.  “Then dreams can come true, after all,” she whispered.  She reached up and met his lips with her own, closing her fingers around the love token and wrapping her arms around his neck in a long, long embrace, whilst the sun set behind them  over the Arno.

Most Romantic Love Scene-Entry Five

Title: Tempered Dreams
Author: Pamela S Thibodeaux

Scott held her and continued to stroke her body in a soothing caress. Each ragged cry tore at his heart, but he didn’t shush her. When her sobs subsided into soft, hiccupping sounds he rose with her cradled in his arms and carried her into the bedroom.

Katrina stiffened in his grasp. “What...?”

“Shh,” he whispered, brushing his lips over her forehead. “I just want to hold you. Trust me, Kitten,” he urged and felt her relax in his arms.

Laying her gently on the bed, he crawled in beside her and pulled her close. His mouth covered hers in a tender caress—searching, tasting, teasing, urging a deeper response until he heard her soft, sweet moan of surrender, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. The sound and the feel of her yielding, soft and pliant against him, sent a sweet ache through his entire being. Scott reveled in the feeling.

Trina closed her eyes and gave herself up to the tenderness of his touch. When Jack’s voice rose in her mind, she shook her head. “Talk to me, Scott,” she pleaded. “I don’t want to listen to him any more. I only want to hear your voice.”

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered. “So precious and sweet. The Bible says that you are a new creature in Christ and that the old things have passed away. Believe in His word Trina. You are cleansed and made whole by the blood of Jesus. A new creature. A new woman. I love you.”

He continued to stroke her body, speaking softly; sweet words of faith and hope, of love and desire, determined that when he left she would be assured of the depth of his feelings. When he moved to unbutton her blouse, she stopped him with a firm hand.

“Will you marry me in the church?” she asked, her eyes wide and pleading.  Trina saw the hope and joy flare in his eyes and her heart skipped a beat.

Scott smiled and brushed his lips over hers. “Honey, I’ll marry you barefoot on the bayou if that’s what you want. Just name the date and time.”

“Can we wait until our wedding night to make love?”

He gently removed his hand from her grip and tugged the buttons of her blouse open. “No,” his voice was soft. “I intend to make love to you every chance I get.”

At her look of wide-eyed surprise, he chuckled, nuzzling her cheek and teasing her ear with his mouth.

“Lovemaking is more than sex, Kitten, so much more than the joining of bodies. Lovemaking is a connecting of hearts.” He traced hers with his finger and felt her tremble beneath his touch. He caressed the silky flesh of her slim throat. His fingers moved over the smooth skin of her cheek to tuck her hair behind her ear.

“It’s a meeting of minds and a touching of souls,” he whispered, while pressing feathery kisses across her face. Once again he locked his gaze with hers.

“By the time our wedding night arrives and we complete the physical act of joining of our bodies, you will know that you are truly and deeply loved,” he vowed. “Completely and unconditionally.”

Trina heard his sharp intake of breath when his gaze left hers to travel the length of her.

Scott’s breath backed up in his lungs. She lay before him like a feast. He could feel her need; see it in the dark depths of her eyes and in the faint flush just beneath her skin, turning her complexion a rosy pink. His mouth watered for the taste of her silky flesh. His senses leapt in response to the depth of her desire, desire evident in the throbbing pulse at her throat and the slight trembling of her body. His control slipped dangerously.

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered, his voice so thick he could barely get the words past his raw throat.

“I love you so much.” He caressed the length of her with a shaking hand, down her throat, over her chest, across the taut muscles of her abdomen. Her soft moan of pleasure nearly broke the tenuous hold he had on his control. Scott buried his face in her hair with a groan, and prayed to God for the strength to stop now, determined to do as she asked and wait until after the wedding to consummate their love.

The fire in his eyes and the heat of his touch seared the remaining shreds of doubt and fear in Katrina’s heart. Her hands trembled when she ran them up his strong arms, across his broad shoulders and buried them in the silky thickness of his black hair.

“I love you,” she whispered, a heartbeat before her lips covered his in a tender caress.

Scott knew he’d finally won. The relief was so overwhelming he could have wept. Holding her tight against his chest, he rolled over, pulling her atop his long frame. Sinking his fingers in her hair, he buried his lips on hers for a long, sensuous taste of her sweetness. Drawing on the last shred of self-control he possessed, Scott ended the kiss and buried her face in his chest. “We have to stop this, Katrina. Now. Before there’s no stopping.”

The agony in his voice made her giggle. Never had she been wanted with such sweet desperation. The thought filled her with joy. She sat up and ran her hands over the taut muscles of his firm chest. “What if I don’t want to stop?”

Scott ground his teeth in frustration. “Jesus Christ, don’t say that.” She looked like a little girl who had just discovered a hidden cache of sweets; innocence combined with pure, sensual pleasure. His hands fisted in the folds of her blouse. “Lord, help me,” he groaned.

Trina laughed, raising her arms overhead. She closed her eyes with a deep sigh. “I feel brand new,” she said in a soft, tremulous voice.

In one swift movement Scott rolled her over, pinning her beneath him. “You are brand new, Kitten.” He chuckled and tugged her blouse closed, concealing that luscious body from his view.  “And you’re all mine,” he assured in a husky whisper.

Most Romantic Love Scene-Entry Four

Entry Four
Title: One Plus One Makes One
Author: Brian Curtin

Danny was glad they had walked to class, because the last thing he would have wanted would have been for any of their parents to witness the fight.
Danny had always enjoyed their walk home, but today was different. He did not feel like talking and it appeared him that neither did Liana, and it was some time before either of them spoke.
“I’m sorry, Dan,” Liana said finally.
“What for?”
“Chucking a wobbly and picking a fight with Wendy.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’m cool.”
“You sure?” she said. “I must’ve looked gross.”
“No, just normal,” he said and smiled.
“I’ll give you normal,” she snapped and whacked him on the arm.
“Besides you’re cute when you’re mad.”
“Really! only when I’m mad?”
“No, most times. It’s not every day I get girls fighting over me,” he replied and grinned.
“She had it coming, the bitch,” she said looking a little embarrassed. “Anyway who said we were fighting over you?”
“I just guessed.”
“Do you think she’s cute?”
Danny completely ignored her question. “So what were you really fighting about?”
“Never mind,” she said with a smirk.
As they entered a heavily wooded part of the forest Danny moved a little closer to her, and he placed his hand on her shoulder nearest to him. She stopped and they turned to faced one another.
“Oh, Dan, what must you think of me,” she said sombrely and looked down at her feet then back up into his eyes. “That wasn’t me back there, I don’t know what came over me, I was just so… I don’t know…”
“Jealous,” he offered.
“Yes,” she admitted and dropped her head once more.
“I would have been the same if the situation were reversed.”
“Really!” she exclaimed as her head snapped up and, as she moved in closer, held her head up to him.
“Yes,” he answered and looked down at her. “Really.” The look in her eyes told him all he needed to know as he moved against her.
Liana put her arms around his neck as Danny took her in his arms.
“Oh, Dan,” she whispered just before their lips met.
Danny’s heart jumped a cog and he felt as if it would jump out of his body. He was acutely aware of Liana’s body pressed tightly against his and her heart thumped madly on his chest.
The kiss lasted for about a minute. Then they hugged each other for a while and kissed again.
“Oh, Lea,” Danny whispered when their lips finally parted for the second time, and he held her firmly to him.
“Oh, Dan,” she sighed. “What took you so long?”
“I wasn’t sure.”
“So what now, does this mean it’s tight between you and me?” she murmured softy.
“We’ve been tight for a long time to me. It just means we might kiss more, maybe.”
“Might kiss more, maybe?” she teased as she looked up to him.
“Will.”
“Rad.”
“Let’s park it.”
“Right.”
Arms around each other, they sat by the tree. They felt even less like talking they were so caught up in the magic of the moment. Danny had wanted this for quite some time and now, finally, he had taken the first step. He had been reluctant up until now fearing Liana may reject his advances. The events of today had given him the answers he needed. He was now certain that Liana felt as he did and, at last, they had made known their true feelings toward each other. Danny looked at Liana and he was sure he saw the glimmer of tears in her eyes.
“Happy? No more fighting?” He looked down at her and smiled.
“Deliriously happy,” she answered as she snuggled her head on his chest. “And no more fighting, I promise.”
The serenity of this particular spot was further enhanced by the twittering of the birds in the tall trees, and by the gently breeze that scattered the leaves as they fell like confetti around them.
“I like you heaps, Dan,” Liana said finally.
“Same,” Danny said and kissed her again.
“Being with you is unreal. I just don’t know what I’d do without you around.”
“Same, and we have been together like what seems forever.”
“And I’m so proud of you, and to think you almost gave up dancing that time,” she said. “I’m really glad I talked you into staying on. Now look at you, you’re awesome.”
“I’m glad I didn’t quit. It’s all thanks to you and maybe a bit of help from Fatso Marshall.”
Danny laughed, remembering his five-year-old self.
“I’ll never forget that day,” Liana said. “I thought you’d give up for sure after what he said and did.”
Danny shrugged. “It’s a long time ago.”
“I remember we were at school in the yard.”
There was a silence as their minds travelled back to that long ago time…

Author: Rebecca L. Gillan

“Would you like a pony?” he asked out of the blue.
“A pony?” she repeated dubiously. “Why would I want a pony?”
“You always wanted a pony,” Luc said.
“Lucan! I was six!” she said, exasperated. “I’m twenty-five! What would I do with a pony now? I certainly can’t ride it,” she dismissed.
“I was thinking of those seeing eye ponies the humans have,” he remarked. “A dog wouldn’t do. It wouldn’t live very long and would not be a good companion for my little kitty-Cait.”
“Luc, I’ve no idea what you are talking about.”
“I saw a television special on it once. A group of humans in the Americas have begun training ponies as guide animals for the blind.”
“What is television?” Cait asked. The rest she understood, but not that.
“It’s a box humans watch things—never mind that. Would you like a pony trained to be your eyes?” She felt Luc grasp her hand and pull it to his mouth. She reached up and found his cheek with her free hand, trying to guess if he was serious or not. It wasn’t a bad idea, really. She had always wanted a pony. Her father had always said no because they had no practical use. Cait felt a grin spread across her face. That wouldn’t be a very good excuse now, not if the thing was trained to be her eyes. She felt Luc’s mouth turn up in answer to her grin. He moved closer, and she felt him kiss her nose.
“I’ll be getting you a pony, then,” he said, amusement slipping back into his voice. She moved her head just a bit to the side and kissed him. She found Luc’s shoulders and followed them down, slowly exploring his body. Luc groaned as she brushed her fingers over his nipple. Hm, he must like that as much as she did. Did he like it to be licked, too?
“Cait,” he gulped a moment later. “What are you doing?” She could hear his breathing speed up as she licked and nibbled her way down his chest.
She chuckled darkly. “I’m looking at my mate. Do you mind? I don’t seem to be able to use my eyes, so I thought to use my hands and…other parts.”
“I don’t mind at all,” he stammered, surrendering to her touch.
