The world was stunned when they found out that vampires do exist especially since for Detective Travis Boudreaux, letting the world know-and your police captain-know you are a vampire, well let’s just say it wasn’t all sunshine and roses. But now two years have passed and supernatural beings are the norm and the humans are on the side of civil rights for them until a killer decides that isn’t acceptable. Now Travis has to partner up with Detective Sam Garrett, a man who hates all things supernatural, and work together to find a killer, one who kills vampires and humans alike. But for these two detectives, there are lessons to be learned in life and in death as they race against the clock to find a killer before he strikes again.

DEEP BLUES GOODBYE is a story that draws you in, captures your imagination and doesn’t let you go until the very last page is read. TA Webb & Laura (L. E.) Harner are a formidable writing duo and I was enthralled from the beginning as I tried to figure out plot twists and the ‘who done it’ surrounding the killer of vampires and humans. This story has its dark moments, humor and some major tension-sexual and otherwise-between the characters. The tough gritty storyline and it’s about two characters who find themselves learning new lessons about life and death and that second chances are not always what they are made out to be. The writing is tight, story flows swiftly and the reader is drawn into a world where supernatural creatures are the norm nowadays and humans are accepting of them. I have to admit, I fell for these two main characters the minute they stepped onto the pages. Travis and Sam are two people whoa re still searching for the person they know they can be. 

DEEP BLUES GOODBYE is a strong story, a character rich story and one that draws a reader in and doesn’t let go even after the last page is read. These two wonderful authors weave a spell around you as you flip the pages of this first book in the Altered States series and I, for one, am anxious to see more. The ending alone leaves you on the edge of your seat, going, “OH. MY. GOD!” The one thing I wished was that it was longer. This had the potential to being a novel length story and I would have loved to have read it. I have to admit though; I never read the prequel, Altered States but plan to now that I read DEPP BLUES GOODBYE.

If you are looking for a tough, gritty novel with werewolves and vampires who don’t sparkle, then try DEEP BLUES GOODBYE and settle in for the ride of your life. I just hope we won’t have to wait for book two.

Detective Remington was thrust into the Missing Person unit as punishment from his Captain over a past case. But after looking into a case where six boys have gone missing, in different parts around Phoenix, Remy is determined to figure out what and who is causing this.

Inspector Jamie Mainwearing is deep in the case of the six missing kids as well. Six kids-six months and he feels he is missing something. All were reported as runaways yet Jamie knew there was something wrong with this picture.

When Remy and Jamie are put on a secret task force and forced to go undercover, well sparks fly, passion blazes hotter than the sun and these two will have to figure out the case, their hearts and more before the danger behind these kidnappings comes knocking at their door.

I was thrilled to get a copy of this from the authors as a thank you for helping them out in a few scenes when they were writing this. The whole story as a whole is wonderful. Action packed, emotionally charged and oh my god, Remy and Jamie are to die for apart but when they are together on the pages, wow is all I can say. These two are smoldering apart but when they come together-pure combustion. These two authors created something so wonderful, compelling and delightful, I couldn’t tear myself away from it long enough to even go to sleep. I needed to see what would happen next for Remy, Jamie and the case they were working on. The writing flowed smoothly, the characters were very well defined and completely captured my heart and oh man, the sexual tension between these two, I was afraid my e-reader would explode from it all.

Meet Remy…broken but not down for the count. He is a tough as nails cowboy detective from Phoenix and with a past the reader gets a hint of, we know something bad happened to him. He is a strong, alpha male and never shows vulnerability…until he looks into Jamie’s eyes and feels his defenses crumbling. He is definitely a character a reader can root for. He is a flawed alpha male and one I fell in love with the moment he stepped onto the page. You can see his core of steel under it all and that was what sold me on Remy and made him a wonderful detective.

Meet Jamie. He is rich, titled and determined to do things his way and that meant being an Inspector and grabbing at love with both hands. He is the polar opposite of Remy and that is what makes these two so wonderful to me. They work so well together and I felt Jamie was Remy’s perfect mate in all ways. He got him to open up, show emotion and let himself go with Jamie.

The subject matter is difficult to read (Child Sex Trafficking) yet the authors pull no punches in the story and show the evil it is in a way that had me flipping the pages just to see what happened next. The strength these two have together and apart while trying to chase down the bad guys, it made the story very real and I have to admit, has me reaching for it again.  I have got to caution you, if you are looking for a HEA (happily ever after) type of story, you won’t find it here. There is a big cliffhanger at the end that had my jaw gaping open and then running to the authors’ websites hoping book two is coming out soon.

If you enjoy a gritty, excellent story that will leave you breathless, then please run-don’t walk-to your nearest e-retailer and grab this straightaway. I cannot wait to see what else these two authors have in store for Remy and Jamie in the future.

Tyler Hardin has a medical discharge and nowhere to go. Meeting up with his Navy buddy Gibby sounded like a plan but when he gets there, he finds sorrow as he finds the man he thought of as a surrogate father dead. Meeting ranch owner Cass Cartwright was something he never anticipated. Falling in love was not on either of their to-do list yet neither Cass nor Ty could hide their growing feelings for one another. Cass has his work cut out for him as he tries to help Ty heal from his past while showing him they have a future even as someone comes close to destroying all of what Cass built with a blink of an eye.

TY HARD is an emotional, sensual story that leaves you breathless until the very end. This was the first book by this author I have read and I found TY HARD to be full of complex and believable characters, a fast paced storyline with a few twists even I didn’t anticipate and some of the most sensual yet hot sex scenes to date. The author does a great job in letting the characters take over and tell the story. The relationship between Cass and Ty unfolds at a nice, easy pace, letting the reader in as we watch these two strong men find the peace and love they never anticipated ever having.

I have got to admit, I was hooked from the moment I opened the book and couldn’t put it down at all. The characters come alive with emotions as the story moved nicely and the few twists left me gasping in disbelief. My heart ached for both men as they slowly revealed their pasts to one another and then felt myself well up as their emotions were felt within the story. You really feel how these two strong men humbled themselves and became vulnerable to the one they love and this author really does a great job in creating the perfect setting for them to shine. The secondary characters are just as good and I was intrigued by some of them. I just hope we see them in future books.

TY HARD is more than a story of two people meet, fall in love and live happily ever after. It’s about letting go of the past in order to have the future you desire. Letting your heart open for love that will heal the hurts inside and let you find the person you can be. I loved meeting everyone at Willow Creek Ranch and I am anxiously awaiting more stories from this author set there.

If you are looking for a sweet yet hot story that will leave you on the edge of your seat, then try TY HARD and settle in for an afternoon of reading pleasure. I look forward to seeing where this new to me author will go in her career and can’t wait to see what she has in store next for her readers.
