Jason Fleetfoot has gotten his life back after having to almost bite the bullet, so to speak and now has a good job working in the police crime lab where he utilizes his knowledge of chemistry and computers for the good guys. Life is good until he meets Drew Danvers. Vampire, cop and a man Jason is determined to stay away…if only he could. Jason lusts after Drew but can a deer shifter really find happiness with a vampire?
Ms. Violet comes back to Jason Fleetfoot who she introduced to readers in SAVAGE WOLF, another Protect & Serve story. SEX ON THE HOOF is a sexy, wild ride from start to finish. Ms. Violet does a wonderful job in her first MM book to deliver a seductive story full of action-in and out of the bed-, a lust demon running amuck, danger and a budding romance amid its pages. The writing is tight, sex scenes smoking hot and the storyline flows at a nice, even pace.
We met Jason Fleetfoot in SAVAGE WOLF and now here is his story. Jason has cleaned up his act; his sister’s lover, Wolf, got him a job at the CSI lab where Wolf works as a police officer and life is finally going well. He just wasn’t expecting to fall into lust with Drew Danvers, the vampire police officer, who Jason wants with a passion, even as he tries to stay away. Vampires are bad for your health as everyone knows but Jason likes to take risks…even as he gets involved in Drew’s secret investigation that may get him killed! I absolutely loved Jason and Drew together. They have so much chemistry, it sears the brain. They literally melt the screen whenever they are together and I loved every minute of it. There is such a connection between the two, that I could really see their romance playing out in my head. The secondary characters are great and I was absolutely thrilled to see returning characters, Wolf and Natalie (Jason’s sister) from SAVAGE WOLF make an appearance.
SEX ON THE HOOF is a fun, hot story that will heat your day up in a satisfying way. If you like vampires and shape shifters, then you won’t want to miss the pairing of a vampire and a deer shifter together. Perfect combination if done right and this author writes it beautifully. I am eager to see what is next in the Protect and Serve series and what this author has in store for her readers in the future. I just hope we won’t have to wait too long for it.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement of the books.
