Lucinda is a demon dead princess. As daughter of the High Lord of Hell, she rules over nothing. Occasionally she’ll retrieve a wayward demon and feed off the savage Monére but, her only diversion is to visit the living world as a shadow. Then one night she comes across a lone Monére warrior, Stefan who lives alone with a mixed-blood boy as outcasts. Stefan offers himself to her and she is shocked and moved by her desire for him. Now she must find a home between the jealousy of the dead and the violence of the living if she is to keep her newfound love and life. When Nico comes into the mix and a lost demon, Lucinda needs to draw on powers she never knew she had to keep them all safe.

Now this is just the type of book this reviewer loves. Dark, tantalizing, erotic, seductive and powerful, Sunny drags her reader into the story, compels them to keep reading and holds them captive. Her characters leap off the pages and she manages to describe everything so realistically that the reader will be caught up in Lucinda’s adventures. Sunny does not spare the readers feelings but gives a pretty gruesome story that is not for the faint hearted. Fans of Laurell K. Hamilton will devour this story and as this reviewer, will be hunting down Sunny’s backlist. This reviewer did wish that Stefan had made more of an appearance in this story and now Sunny’s fans will have to wait until 2009 for the next book, Lucinda, Deadly to come out.
