Dylan Alexander has been able to see spirits so when a female spirit appears before her, she isn’t surprised however they have never communicated with her. This ghost implores her to save him but Dylan doesn’t know who it is. Dylan, a reporter, discovers a hidden tomb that will change her life forever. Rio, a Breed Warrior, was horribly injured in a battle with the Rogues. He was physically injured and emotionally hurt by the betrayal of his breed mate, Eva, who caused the death of a fellow warrior as well as his injuries.

Midnight Rising is the 4th book in this series by Lara Adrian. It continues to sparkle and entertain as we meet Rio up close and personal. Rio is consumed by his pain and anger. He wants to die but fate has other plans for him. Dylan’s meeting with Rio may have been preordained as the spirit of Eva implores her to help him. Dylan is quite a spunky heroine. She is placed in an unusual situation and she rolls with it the best that she can. The author has done a wonderful job of exploring the lead couple and developing their story. The hero has great depth to him. He is powerful yet very capable of showing tenderness especially toward the woman he loves. Ms. Adrian has created a heroine worthy of Rio in Dylan. The reader can’t help but notice the sparks that fly between her and Rio. The lead couple’s chemistry is sizzling hot and it was thoroughly enjoyable to read about their exploits.

If you are a lover of this series, you will have to get this latest book. Characters from the previous books, makes appearances and it was nice to see them again. Ms. Adrian has further developed her “world” and it continues to enthrall this reader!
