Gillian Gray is a famous photographer. Her pictures are called by some provocative, by others obscene. Her self-portraits are however aimed at one special person. The faceless monster who murdered her mother. The meaning is loud and clear: “Come and get me.” Someone is getting the message. Dead bodies are showing up and posed to mimic Gillian’s photos. Gillian is guarded by a tough ex-cop Ray Pearce. He is committed to the job, much to Gillian’s dismay. He believes she is in real danger. She leads him in a merry dance and Ray can’t help but be attracted to the photographer. But his protection may not be enough to protect Gillian from a killer who wants to create his last masterpiece. The artist herself as a corpse.
Annie Solomon is a clever author who pens a suspense that thrills and chills. She is an exceptional writer who has created characters that leap off the pages. The interaction between the characters is excellent, the dialogue snappy and witty. The plot keeps the reader frantically turning the pages. Ms. Solomon draws her readers in on the very first page and holds them captive until the last word. I highly enjoyed this story. Ms. Solomon keeps the reader guessing until the very end and throws out more than a few red herrings to keep the reader on her toes. The romance simmers on the back burner throughout the book and the sexual tension shimmers throughout. I can highly recommend this exciting read for all fans of romantic suspense.
