Part-time teller and town librarian, Turner Hastings sees her chance for revenge during a bank robbery. Now she is on the run with the contents of the bank president’s deposit box, she wants to prove that he and not her late uncle Rusty embezzled money from the bank.

Special agent John MacKinnon discovers during his investigations of the bank robbery that Turner wasn’t an innocent bystander during the robbery. When he contacts her he soon realizes that there is more to this case than you see on the surface. Soon he has to make an important decision, to save his career or Turner.

Ms. Harper, who many will know as the historical romance author Elizabeth Hoyt, had a very good plot idea with this book. What disturbed me a little bit was that it took so long till the hero and heroine meets the first time face to face. The whole sequence of conversations between them via telephone was simply too long and took a bit of the fun away from the book. The book has its funny, sensual and suspenseful moments and if not for the before mentioned little problem it would be a really great story. But it is still an enjoyable story and I still will definitely pick up Ms. Harper’s next release, because she is not only a fantastic historical romance author but also has a lot of potential as contemporary romance writer. It will be interesting to see with what she comes up next.
