Marianne Mancusi’s NEWS BLUES is witty, fun, and filled with quirky characters that are sure to please.

Maddy is tired of producing fluff pieces and dreams of one day producing national news at Newsline. When she is promoted out of the blue to investigative reporter and given her very own cameraman, it looks like Maddy might just be on her way, even if she has to put with the demands of an aging diva of a news anchor. But then when her parents decide to divorce and she is suddenly in charge of her testing-the-limits teenage sister, she falls in love with her cameraman (who happens to be engaged and not to her) and of course this would be when the story of a lifetime is finally in her grasp.

Marianne Mancusi delivers a funny and very entertaining look behind the scenes of a local news station and the wide variety of personalities that go into each segment. As Maddy risks her job to uncover a shocking story, readers will cheer for this feisty producer, even as her family life and her big story seem to converge in a sad sort of way. And then there is the danger that her big story brings with it. Maybe true love and a dream job are just a pipedream, but maybe not.

The romance between Maddy and her oh so sexy cameraman is a wonderful mix of light humor and explosive heat. Her love interest plays the part usually given to the heroine, that of half of a engaged couple realizing he might have just stumbled into his true love at a most inopportune time. This reversal lends depth to both characters.

Zany and contemporary, Marianne Mancusi’s NEWS BLUES is a modern romantic comedy that will most definitely keep readers tuned in.
