Tess Garrity is forty-five and a widow. She rents a cabin in the mountains to take some down time and re-evaluate her rather boring life. She’s quite attracted to the handsome young man who lives in the cabin next door and who she spies from time to time. Daniel Rios is more than attracted to the sexy, older woman. He wants her with a yearning he’s never felt before but first he needs to get rid of an unwelcome houseguest before approaching Tess. When he makes his move however, who knew the sparks would fly and the nights would become hot and sultry. Daniel now needs to tempt Tess to take a second chance on love, with him. It’s a seductive challenge he is prepared to meet and win.

Regina Carlysle has written an uber-hot story with lots of hot sex. Tess is a woman who has had a mediocre marriage and since her husband passed on has had no sex. Daniel meets her in a moment of vulnerability and things take off pretty fast. In my opinion though, although this book is well written, I did find the relationship progressing a little too fast, and there were too many sex scenes. I believe that if the sex scenes were all taken out, there wouldn’t be much left of the story. I usually like a good story with an older heroine and a younger man. I have nothing against graphic sex, though I found one sex scene slightly distasteful. Apart from these points, it was an ok story.

I'm a little confused as to why this reviewer chose to review an erotica.

I've copied the following from Wikipedia":
Erotica (from the Greek Eros - "desire") or "curiosa," works of art, including literature, photography, film, sculpture and painting, that deal substantively with erotically stimulating or sexually arousing descriptions. Erotica is a modern word used to describe the portrayal of the human anatomy and sexuality with high-art aspirations, differentiating such work from commercial pornography.

Various sub-genres of erotica exist. As with fiction as a whole, there are erotic stories with a science fiction, fantasy, horror or romance focus. Additionally, erotica can also focus on specific sexual behavior or fetishes such as BDSM, wearing uniforms, cross-dressing, polygamy and sexual promiscuity.

Pornography is often described as exploitative or degrading. Erotica, on the other hand, seeks to tell a story with sexual themes. It attempts to explore desire through mystery and intrigue.

I believe Ms. Carlysle did exactly that...explored the desire between the hero and heroine, weaving a very sexy, ultra hot tale...one that was EXPECTED to do just that...deliver the goods...make you squirm and wake up your husband in the dead of night kind of read about an older woman falling for a younger guy and AGAIN, this story was marketed and labeled as an erotica...not just a steamy romance, not a thriller...a tale of erotic desire between male and female, pushing the envelope even as any good erotica does do.

At least you admitted that it was well written, because Ms. Carlysle never disappoints her readers. In fact, I've never seen her get a negative review.

Perhaps the reviewer will take this into consideration before she picks up an erotica again. There's a world of difference between a hot romance and an erotica....as in Grand Canyon size.

Still scratching my head on this one...
