Catriona Kincaid has wanted Simon Westcott when she first laid eyes on him. He was busy trying to get into her cousin, Alice’s knickers but the appearance of Catriona ruined it. Now that Simon is in a bit of pickle, she offers him a way out of his prison. Catriona wants him for a husband as well as an escort to the Scottish Highlands where her future lies.

Simon is the archetypical hero. He is a rogue with no problems attracting women. Catriona is the naïve, headstrong and feisty heroine. She rushes into things without thinking it through. Simon and Catriona embark on a wild journey together but the reader never feels attached to them. The author does give us lots of information about what Simon and Catriona went through in the past but it didn’t make us feel closer to them. It was a little disappointing to not be emotionally invested in the lead couple.

SOME LIKE IT WICKED is the first book in this new series. We are introduced to lots of characters and it is probable that they will appear in the next book, SOME LIKE IT WILD (Connor’s story). Having read most of Ms. Medeiros’ books, I was looking forward to this one. It didn’t knock my socks off but it wasn’t that bad either. It was an okay historical romance with likable characters and lots of action to keep the storyline moving forward.
