She meets up with thieves en route and Griffin Shaw saves her. Griffin, a Texan is heading to the Highlands to confirm his mother’s stories, gets hurt in the brawl and Astrid has to tend to his wounds.They travel deep into the Scottish highlands where more adventures await them.

Astrid is a tough woman. She has withstood the poverty, shame, gossip, and having the ton look down on her. Astrid holds her emotions in check but the reader knows she is capable of deep and heart-felt feelings. Her life has not been easy as she has suffered at the hands of her husband as well as her mother. Griffin is just the man to break her hard shell. He is a charming rogue who will win the reader’s heart. Griffin is an easy-going guy. Astrid and Griffin feel like real characters. You can envision them in your mind and see them speaking the dialogue. The couple has tremendous chemistry and they are great together. It is lovely to watch Astrid’s shell cracking as she falls in love. There are obstacles to their “happily ever after” as Griffin finds his Scottish family but the author resolves the issues.

SURRENDER TO ME is a solid historical romance. It has an interesting storyline, an enjoyable lead couple and lots of actions to keep you entertain. This reader eagerly awaits the next book by Ms. Jordan.
