In TAKING THE HEAT, you meet Liam O’Neil, a strong yet vulnerable character that calls to the reader from the beginning. As this was the first of Ms. Shay’s firefighter books I have read, I was enthralled with the multifaceted characters, the in-depth storyline and the very emotional scenes between Liam and Sophie as they try to fight an attraction so hot it all but singes the readers’ fingers. Can they work through their differences and trust in a love that defies all reason? Ms. Shay delivers a wonderful tale of courage, danger and a love so hot, it scorches a path straight to your heart. Get ready for a story that will keep those summer nights hot and steamy in TAKING THE HEAT.
