Nothing is going right for Ariadne McSween, a single mum. Instead of staying at home to welcome the New Year in, she’s out with her rascal of a brother robbing some rich folks in a mansion out in the Scottish Highlands. First of all the car breaks down, then when the safe is opened, there are not riches, just some ancient music manuscripts. What should have been a simple robbery while the occupants celebrate the New Year, turns into a fiasco when their cohort, an unstable fellow called Shug, takes hostages. Then the ghosts appear. Two of them rather randy fellows and one scary woman who was the wife of the owner of the mansion. Oh yes, the owner. Aridane is having a hard time not falling for the handsome, well-known composer, who happens to be accused of murdering his wife. What else could go wrong?
This is a great read! Exciting, scary, and adventurous, it is filled with a great romance. These characters just reach out to the reader and you’ll be rooting for them all along the way. Marie Treanor always delivers a book that you’ll be talking about long after reading it. The characters are alive and vibrant. I particularly enjoyed the orchestrated love scene. You will have to get this book to find out what I mean. Marie Treanor also injects her stories with her own brand of humour that is sure to give the reader a few smiles while she’s reading. I enjoyed this story a lot and can highly recommend it. In fact, so far, I have only read excellent stories from this very talented writer and you should run, not walk and get her entire list. You will not be disappointed! I guarantee it!
