Maggie loves everything that is somehow connected with Scotland and its history. She is more than euphoric when she gets a letter from Dr. Alexander, that she can be part of an archaeological dig in Scotland. On the dig she finds herself suddenly transported back into the year 1711, right in the middle of a battle between Quinn McIntyre and the Duke of Montrose. Quinn saves Maggie and gives her into the safekeeping of his friend Ian, shortly afterward Quinn is captured by Montrose. Ian swears to free him, but he himself is captured and Quinn mortally wounded. Maggie takes Quinn back into the future for treatment, because she has fallen in love with him.

Ms. Mallory has written with HIGHLAND ROGUE, a wonderful and absolutely captivating time-travel romance, I haven’t read such a good time-travel book for a very long time. This book has all the elements what a good book has to have: humor, suspense, magic, adventure and romance. I warn you to plan to read the whole book in one setting, because I was literally glued to the pages and stayed up all night till I finished the story.

From the first meeting there is a fantastic chemistry between Maggie and Quinn and the sparks are flying between them. Especially because Quinn is an Alpha male and Maggie is a confident woman.

Beside of Maggie and Quinn there several more really interesting and fascinating characters.

I can hardly wait for the sequel HIGHLAND REBEL, which will be released in March 2009.

I can recommend HIGHLAND ROGUE to everyone, who is looking for a very good time-travel romance with lots of historical elements and even more romance!
