Three young sisters set out from Sweden for a new life in America. Not all three of them are happy about the change, but are determined to stick together after the death of their parents and the desertion of their brother. The eldest, Erin is hiding a terrible secret and feels immigrating is her only option to keep her sister’s safe. But the three are in for several hardships and disappointments on their journey and upon their arrival in Chicago. But they have each other and their faith to see them through.

UNTIL WE REACH HOME is a story of three sisters who were among the millions of people who left their homes to journey to America in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Not everyone who migrated found the streets paved with gold that they envisioned.

UNTIL WE REACH HOME touched me on many different levels. It is a look into history and the fact that some deep family secrets and scandals are ageless. Erin, Kristen, and Sofia each have their own secrets that will shock each other when they are discovered. But these girls love each other, and are willing to forgive when needed, offer support and guidance where needed. This is a true testament to how a family should be.

In this touching and poignant we journey with the three sisters as author Lynn Austin pens their struggles and solutions. This is a story that shouldn’t be missed by any reader of historical fiction. It is sure to touch your soul. I look forward to reading many more stories from this author.
