Beau Arneaux is being tried out for the FBI. On this assignment, he won’t be a full-fledged agent but a Texas Trooper on official business with the FBI. What surprises him is the file. He’s going home to Virginia and will be meeting Simone Carr.

Simone hadn’t seen Beau since high school and often thought of him. What he looked like now, what became of him. The company she worked for had just hired a new programmer who was called Beau and had the same dark hair. It couldn’t be the same man. But when she gets to know him she hopes that he is her Beau. Then her whole world turns upside down with robbery, murder and mayhem and a secret that could tear them apart.

This is a very exciting story that held me captive. I enjoyed the plot very much, the characters were engaging and the story is quite sensuous. Liadan Brodie knows how to write a story that keeps the reader entertained. I’m a big fan of romantic suspense stories and this one was nice to read. I only had one small criticism to give and that was that it lacked a bit in emotions and things were told when they could have been shown. I enjoyed the romance between Beau and Simone. The sexual tension was tight and their road to their happy end was not too easy. In fact, it was quite an exciting ride with lots of obstacles to overcome. Liadan Brodie is an author to watch closely.
