Jordan McAdam and Gage Campbell are cops. They are also lovers and Jordan is happy to finally have someone to love. One night they come across a different kind of criminal. One that is out of this world. As they try to contain it, Gage is mortally wounded and dies in Jordan’s arms. Jordan is heartbroken. Although she knows it’s dangerous, she goes after the Shadow Demon that killed Gage and is wounded herself. After this her life is changed. By day she helps to capture human criminals, by night she goes after the Shadows that stalk humans. These demons may just be responsible for the string of sacrifical murders that are baffling the police. Then, one night while she is engaging some of these demons, Gage stands before her. Is he a mimic demon, messing with her mind, or has he really come back from the dead? Yes, Gage is back, and there is a wide void of hurt and pain to overcome. Is their love up to the task?
Sydney Somers is a force to be reckoned with. The first book in The Shadow Destroyers series is absolutely breathtaking. Gritty, hard, exciting and a do-not-put-down read, this talented author gives her readers a no-holds-barred story that will thrill and chill. She writes characters that are alive and vibrant. The interaction between Jordan and Gage is highly explosive and tenderly emotional. This story is an emotional roller coaster that will pull on the reader and draw her into the world of the Shadow Destroyers. The secondary characters are all unique and add depth to the story without taking away from the main characters. Sydney Somers writes love scenes that engage the reader making you pant and enjoy the experience with them. I absolutely loved this story. I started this series with the second book and couldn’t wait to get my greedy little hands on the first. Next the third one is up and I am already half way through it. I hope there are more books coming in this wonderful series.
