Rachel Morgan is trying to get over the death of her lover being murdered but dang it, it is so hard to find the peace she craves when even she cannot remember what exactly happened that fateful night. With her heart weeping daily, her friends trying to help and determination to find his killer running through her veins, Rachel finds that all roads lead to good intentions…….sometimes. But she has bigger problems when she is dragged in on a case that has even Rachel wondering if she is nuts especially as the past comes back to bite her in the ass.

Ms. Harrison has done it again wit her latest foray into The Hollows. WHITE WITCH, BLACK CURSE starts out six months after Kisten’s murder and Rachel still hasn’t processed everything fully from that fateful night. Not remembering has something to do with it as well and she is gunning for revenge and to solve the one thing that haunts her every step she takes. Add in a banshee going nuts and family uproars, Rachel has more than enough on her plate except more comes from the least place she ever expected. Can she find the strength to deal with everything falling apart around her or will she have a massive melt down?

Ms. Harrison’s vulnerable Rachel Morgan is a study of contradictions. Strength, independence and charismatic, Rachel is a character that continues to grow with each book. I am always thrilled to read one of Ms. Harrison’s Hollows stories and this was one that gets you on all levels of your emotions. Laughter, tears and smiles were just a fraction of the emotions that flowed through me as I read WHITE WITCH, BLACK CURSE. Each page was like a new twist or turn for Rachel, Jenks, Ivy and all their friends to figure out and somehow end up alive in the process. Ms. Harrison’s writing delivers with each page making me go eagerly onto the next to find out what happens. The characters continue to grow, evolve and find themselves as they deal with new problems on top of the ones they are already trying to cope with. Ms. Harrison delves deep into Rachel’s mind, heart and soul and the reader gets a sense of what she wants to be against who she thinks she should be. Is she a plague to those who stay around her? I certainly don’t think so but Rachel learns some hard things and finds her inner strength to deal with everything.

With her trademark style, Ms. Harrison delivers a pulse pounding ride and another glimpse into her beloved Hollows series that keeps readers glued to their seats for the next installment. If you haven’t read one of The Hollows Books, I definitely suggest you grab them all because you don’t want to miss a series like this. WHITE WITCH, BLACK CURSE is destined to be one of those read again books for me as I find myself aching for the next installment from this prolific author. So run, don’t walk to grab the latest Hollows book and be prepared to while the afternoon away reading the latest adventures Rachel has as well as her friends.
