Christina McMullen is a psychologist who has a penchant for finding herself in the middle of solving crimes. She has a relationship with LAPD lieutenant Jack Rivera that is more off than on and her days are filled with crazy clients. One day, Jack's father comes calling, asking Christina to help him solve a riddle. He wants to campaign for the presidency of the United States and fears that a mysterious death may have repercussions. Jack is not happy as his father is a renowned womanizer and they have fought over the same woman before. Christina is on the job, mostly because she needs a new septic tank, but as she uncovers a tangle of murders and lies, she finally realizes the secret behind the bizarre murders. Now she only needs to find out who is next and keep her own sanity.
This is a great story that had me hooked from page one! It is fun, fast, full of twists and turns and has you hanging on the edge of your seat wondering just what is going to happen next. The characters leap from the pages and I particularly liked Shirley, Christina's temporary secretary who had a lot of her own kind of wisdom. Christina herself is a character that readers will love and Jack Rivera sounds like a hunk and a half. I could have screamed with Christina in frustration as they almost, almost made it to the bedroom. Lois Greiman knows how to keep her readers on the edge of sexual tension. This is another story about the adventures of Christina and after reading this one, I HAVE to go and pick up the books before and impatiently wait for the next one.
