Rita Karnopp’s REVENGE is mysterious and suspenseful and filled with heartbreak. Abi thought she had the perfect marriage until her husband decides his pregnant wife no longer appeals to him and he sends her to live in a hotel after finding out that the son he desires is going to be a daughter. As a marriage counselor, Abi has a hard time accepting her marriage is over. But then her husband becomes abusive and an attempt is made on her life. Abi’s life finally takes a turn for the better when Officer Miles Sandler is assigned her case and decides to take a personal interest.
This story took many interesting twists and turns leading readers down many a slippery slope wondering what was going to happen next. The storyline moved along at lightning speed and the characters were deeply complex. The only real disappointment was that the two love interests lacked sizzle. They both came across a bit on the “vanilla” side for this reader. Still, the story keeps the excitement high and the adrenaline pumping. This reader is very interested in reading the next offering from this talented author. If REVENGE is any indication, Rita Karnopp’s next book is sure to be sinister, twisted and a real page turner.
