When Sierra Hart’s grandfather died, he left her a cabin, some land and enough money to keep it going. It came at just the right time in her life as she needed some place to think about what she wanted to do. Against the good advice of her family, she quit her job and long term, boring relationship and headed for a solitary life. The first thing she sees is a large, silver wolf watching her from the forest. It doesn’t appear to want to attack her and Sierra feels strangely at peace. Then she gets a visit from the local lumber company who wants to buy her land. This doesn’t bring her any peace and she suspects these people are not going to be put off so easily. Finally, a gorgeous, drool worthy man knocks on her door saying he is lost. After some reservation, she invites him in and is soon indulging in the most mind blowing sex she’s ever had. But, is it for real? Can she believe in love at first sight like he does? And what will happen, when the men from the lumber company come to force her to sell the land? And what is it with that wolf, anyways? Desiree Holt is the author of quite a few short, erotic pieces that will certainly tickle every reader’s fancy. I have always enjoyed her work and get real excited when she has a new release out. If you are a reader of erotic romance, and love your sex scenes graphic, with lots of sensuality and some pulse pounding romance, then this is an author for you. In this story, she gives us two very charming characters and a glimpse into their lives at the time they meet and realize that they are meant for each other. At first I thought Luke a little arrogant with his claims of being able to give her mind blowing pleasure, but he sure delivered. After finding out exactly who he is, it’s no wonder this alpha man acts like he does. As this is a short, Ms. Holt gives the story a good balance between the romance and plot. Although the plot is simple, for a short story it is enough to give the necessary conflict for these two lovers. Another conflict is the secret Luke is holding on to. This is the first book in The Sentinels series and I am looking forward to more.
