Young university students who she sometimes does a special deal for as they don’t have so much money. Through them she meets the charismatic Caratacus. Then, one night, while she is desperately trying to defend herself, she stabs the wrong man and this man, Caratacus, rescues her. He’s from another dimension and is trying to return with the help of his strange steam powered machines, but Miri distracts him and he ends up helping her to find the missing prostitutes. It isn’t long before they are sharing more than a room and the nights certainly become steamy. Can Miri help Caratacus to forget his lost love? Could she be more than just a distraction? An adventure begins that takes Miri through time and dimensions. An adventure where she finds true love at last.I don’t know how she does it, but Marie Treanor always seems to come up with new and unique plots and real exciting characters. Her writing is tight, her characters leap off the pages, her romance is sensual and steamy and the plot is interesting and captivating. This story would be more in the new Steam Punk genre as it involves a man who uses various machines run by steam. I liked the way Ms Treanor takes a woman who would usually be considered a low, coarse person and gives her a sweet disposition, a warm heart and courage to help her hero. I loved her hero, a man who is desperate to get back to his home, who also wants to help those he has come to know and love. This is a roller-coaster of a ride that I found hard to put down. Her love scenes are highly sensual and erotic. Marie Treanor infuses a lot of emotion into her characters and their lives. This is another fantastic read from a very talented author.
