Spin, doctor Robyn Peltier’s employer, has been murdered and now she is running for her life as the people around her keep dying. And she just can’t seem to get ahead of the murderer long enough to even talk to the police. When it is discovered that the murderer might be one of the Otherworld races, Robin’s best friend, Hope Adams, is in a real quandary. Her only chance to keep Robyn alive is to tell her about the Otherworld races and the fate of humans who find out this information is death.

Kelley Armstrong has done it again with LIVING WITH THE DEAD which is book 9 in her wildly successful Women of the Otherworld series. LIVING WITH THE DEAD is slightly different in that the heroine is actually a human who has become involved with the otherworld races unknowingly. Robyn really struck a chord with me as she could be me or my best friend. All she is trying to do is stay alive. Luckily she does have one of the women of the otherworld on her side in the form of her best friend Hope Adams.

It was great to be able to run into Hope and Karl again. She has to be one of my favorite characters. She still has a lot of insecurities but she is growing stronger and surer of herself each book. And her relationship with Karl is an ongoing work of art. He has been a real stabilizing element on Hope. We are also given another glimpse into the Cabals and are introduced to the inside workings of another of the Otherworld races.

Be sure to get your copy of LIVING WITH THE DEAD and set aside a day to do nothing but read and enjoy. I highly recommend LIVING WITH THE DEAD to any readers that enjoy strong women and the paranormal.
