Welcome to Michael Barnette's guest blog

Hi, I'm Michael Barnette author of over a dozen stories and novels. My publishers include Loose Id, Liquid Silver books and my own publishing house, Shadowfire Press. I started out writing goth and vampire poetry back in the early 1990s, and moved to writing fiction in the mid 90s. My first erotic story was written in 1997 and was accepted and published in 2001 by the first publisher I sent it off to--Circlet Press.

I write in all erotic romance genres including scifi, fantasy, paranormal, vampire, werecreatures, mystery and suspense and the occasional contemporary--which I've just recently started writing. I also write a lot of D/s and BDSM genre stories, though not everything I write contains those themes. Sometimes I get wild and mix genres--like scifi paranormal and mystery with some BDSM or D/s tossed in for fun--because for me genres are like potato chips, you can't have just one. *grin*

Recently I've had a number of books come out, including some with my co-author Auburnimp. Together we write a few book series, the most recent releases are Swordbrothers 2: Four Winds a scifantasy m/m/m/m with an otherworldly setting: a planet colonized hundreds of years ago by people from Earth. Then there's Sakura Blades 2: Fate Entwined a historic m/m set in Japan about two ronin on the run from the Shogun and his men.

On my own I've had two books come out from Loose Id. In June they released Dominion a polyamory D/s BDSM scifi paranormal about a vampire and his lovers. In August they released my paranormal contemporary m/m, High Country about a horse rancher and a scifi author. You can find both of these books here.

On September 7th I'll have a story coming out with Liquid Silver Books in their Hearts Afire series which is all about firemen. The story is entitled Five Alarm Lover and it's an m/m scifi story about firefighter Del Preston and mining company junior manager, Aaron Halford. You can read more about it on the Liquid Silver Books forum here. Its in the same two author anthology with Phillipa Grey-Garou's story High Heat.

I just signed a contract with Loose Id for a Christmas themed story entitled Let it Snow which will be out in time for the holiday season, but I don't have the exact release date at this time. It's about Rocky Mountain Park ranger Cooper Heywood and photographer Alejandro Peleze who's come to the park to take pictures of wintery scenes for his newest coffee table photobook. The two meet and the attraction is instant and mutual. It's the first purely contemporary story I've ever written and I'm having a lot of fun writing it.

I'm in the middle of redesigning my website--the other one was lost when the hosting service went out of business without warning their customers--but you can follow me at:

My leige, I am a big fan of your books, meaning Dominion is my favorite, and High Country and I could go on and on but you get my point!

Hi Carol Lynne,

Yes I'm busy, but since I have no life to speak of, I have lots of time to write which is what I do full time now.

Plus I set a New Years resolution to write 250,000 words this year and at last count I'd only managed 192,000 so I've got a way to go yet. LOL

Hi Danny,

I forgot my google account lets me post to Blogger. I've got so many webservice accounts it's hard to keep track of all of them. LOL

Thanks for having me and for supporting my work.

Say hi to your husband Frank for me. I'll see if I can keep the inspiration coming. *winks*
