BLOOD & FIRE is an interesting story about love, sex and the strong emotions one has that can cause problems or solve them. I love the way Mychael Black keeps the readers attention throughout the story. The writing was tight and a fast paced storyline kept you intrigued to the very end with the sexual tension exploding off the pages, BLOOD & FIRE definitely delivers one explosive moment after another.

Meet Jason Summerfield, a man with a hidden talent with fire and a lead singer in a local rock band. After a really bad break up, he feels lost and adrift, especially as he sees friends hook up or be in love. With his ability, he is afraid to even form any type of relationship that doesn’t have him saying good bye the next day. One night stands have worked for him since his breakup and when he starts hearing a voice in his head, he is intrigued and scared out of his wits. Who is this voice that gets him so revved up, he feels like he will explode? I loved the character Jason. He was a contradiction to the strong alpha males I have been reading; strong yet vulnerable, afraid to risk his heart again and afraid he will hurt anyone he comes in contact with. This author definitely delivers a character a reader can relate to and you get the sense of who Jason is deep in his hidden heart and you see how alive he comes when Julian finally makes his appearance known. Add in some really hot sex scenes and BLOOD & FIRE is pure combustion.

BLOOD & FIRE kicks off a new series from this author and I am highly looking forward to the next adventure for Jason and Julian. If you enjoy some tenderness and sexual tension that simmers throughout the pages, then grab BLOOD & MAGIC. You will be drawn into a story so rich, it is almost life like. I look forward to more from Mychael Black and highly recommend BLOOD & MAGIC to anyone who enjoys vampires, paranormal and more.
