An unfortunate encounter with her ex leaves Erica dying in the ocean, but she finds herself rescued by Reel Tritone, the black sheep son of the Mer King. He changes her into a mer to save her life. When she awakens she thinks she’s in her own kind of hell, because suddenly she can converse with the fish and breathe under water. From this moment on a whole new life starts for her, but what she doesn’t know, is that her life is still in danger, because the mer aren’t allowed to change humans and the Oceanic council isn’t happy about it. Reel and Erica are sent on a mission, one that might be deadly. Will they find a way for a happy future?

IN OVER HER HEAD is a wonderful and captivating under water adventure, which will keep you glued to the pages. I was really sad when I reached the last page, because I didn’t want the story to end. Ms Fennell takes her readers on an emotional rollercoaster ride. If you like tortured heroes you will fall in love with Reel, he is the black sheep of his family because he’s a mer without fins. For his whole life he’s felt more like an outsider and not loved, it is only when he meets Erica he finds a reason for his life.

I can only congratulate Ms. Fennell for the idea to create this wonderful series in the undersea world. If you liked Disney’s Little Mermaid, you will love this book. She is definitely a fast rising star in the world of romance and for me she is the new romance author of 2009.

Also keep an eye out for the upcoming Mer books WILD BLUE UNDER (November 2009) and CATCH OF A LIFETIME (February 2010).

THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THIS BOOK. THIS IS AN OBJECTIVE UNBIASED REVIEW

Ah, Danny! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I recently had a reader tell me she had to skip to the end to make sure Reel and Erica ended up together after that final encounter with Krak. I assured her that my stories always do have a happy ending b/c, after all, they ARE romances.

Thank you for the 5 hearts!

I so loved the story. IOHH head was witty, charming, and sexy all rolled into one. Plus, being an island girl originally, I totally got a good chuckle out of all the sea references.
