Royce Varisey, Duke of Wolverton aka master spy Dalziel is retiring from his ministry to found a family. Shocked by his father’s death he is shattered that he couldn’t reconcile with his father before his death.
Minerva Chesterton is the chatelaine of Wolverton castle, she has been secretly infatuated with Royce for a long time, but she knows that her chances to become his duchess are nearly non existent. But she didn’t count on Royce’s growing feelings towards her. Because he is fascinated by her prim and proper behaviour, it seems that he is able to see under her surface. That’s why he embarks on a seduction to win her as his bride.
Ms. Laurens has a talent to keep her readers on their toes, because the plot is sometimes really unpredictable, which keeps you on the edge of your chair. I really looked forward to read Royce’s story and I wasn’t disappointed, it was as good as I hoped.
MASTERED BY LOVE is the 8th book in the Bastion Club, but you can read it as a stand-alone, although all other the books of the series are great and I can tell you that you will want to read them, after reading MASTERED BY LOVE.
This is a really good conclusion to a great series. I was more than a little sad to see this series coming to an end, but I am sure that Ms. Laurens will start another great one very soon.
I highly recommend this book to all fans of fantastic regency romances! You will love it!
