Dr. Maria Keaton only wanted to help a troubled teenaged boy. But because of lies told at his trial, Maria finds herself the most hated person in the small town of Honesty. Judge Jake Sloane has felt an attraction for the doctor who he has seen around town. Now he finds himself with a dilemma. Helping her clear her name at the possible cost of his own good name, or report her to the medical association and ruining any chance he could possibly have to win her heart.

A CONFLICT OF INTEREST is a page-turner at the beginning. I could not wait to see if any truth lay behind all of the lies. Maria is a good person just out to help those in need, even when it is damaging to herself. She is a delightful character that puts others best interests in front of her own.

I felt that the character of Judge Sloane was not as credible or believable as it could have been. However, I suppose that even judges are human and have the same faults as everyone else does. Sorry Ms. Adams but something with the character just did not click with me. He is not my idea of a knight in shining armor or a strong leading man.

That aside, A CONFLICT OF INTEREST is a wonderful read and one that I am glad I had the opportunity to partake of. The prose flows smoothly and there is nary a dull point in the book. The ending is heartwarming and will not disappoint.

THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THIS BOOK. THIS IS AN OBJECTIVE UNBIASED REVIEW.
