A TEST OF LOVE is a wonderful story of heartbreaks, desire and more from author Claire Thompson. This is an author who really gets to the soul of her characters and lets the readers into their hearts within the pages of her books. Here we continue with another Solitary Knight member finding his one who got away and seeing if there was anything left between them. I don’t want to give too much away but I have to admit, A TEST OF LOVE was an engrossing story that will have you rooting for Ryan and Tom to get their happily ever after.
Fourteen years before, Ryan was young and inexperienced and broken hearted to find the man he adored didn’t want him or so he thinks. Tom didn’t want to break his professor-teacher boundary, Ryan left even though since then he has compared every new lover to the one man who held his heart and broke it in a million pieces. Tom Shafer was surprised and delighted to see Ryan again even as old desires begin to stir as he stares into the eyes of the one person he never forgot. With two hearts trying to move forward, danger strikes at the heart of Ryan and Tom- can these two work together to get past it to relish in the love growing between them or will it destroy them both instead? These two were perfect together. I couldn’t help rooting for these two to finally work out their issues and see if their hearts can join together. The sexual tension ran high and when they come together it had an underlying softness that melted my heart. Ms. Thompson keeps the reader glued to their seat with her twists in Ryan and Tom’s courtship even as the danger mounts against them. I loved the secondary characters that kept the story flowing smoothly and hope to read their stories in the future.
A TEST OF LOVE is one of those stories that keep after the last page is read. I kept flipping it open to read my favorite parts again and I will definitely be reading this one again in the future. Ms. Claire is a marvelous storyteller who keeps the reader glued to their seats as they read one of her books. I am looking forward to more stories centered on the Solitary Knights of Pelham Bay and hope I don’t have to wait too long for them. If you enjoy an M/M story that grabs you by the heart with complex characters, romance and a fast paced storyline, then grab A TEST OF LOVE and settle in for one hot adventure.
