Paula Holliday is a gardener and owner of her own business Dirty Business in Springfield, Connecticut. She left her life in NYC for a small town existence and has put down roots. When a friend and client is arrested for escaping prison twenty years ago, the entire town is shocked to its core. Caroline Sturgis was a mom, and suburban socialite that came across as innocent and nearly perfect. To find out someone she was considering going into business with was a fugitive shocked Paula to her core.
The trail to who ratted out Caroline leads Paula and her friends on a trail of deceit, mystery and drama that will have readers laughing out loud and cringing in fear. With a slow start, DEAD HEAD was not my favorite read of this season until the fourth chapter when I found myself wanting more, reading longer and just waiting to see what escapade was next up from Rosemary Harris. The third book in the A Dirty Business Mystery ended up being a great read, and leaving me wanting to find the next book in the series when it is released, and plan a hunt for the first two books in the series.

The secondary characters in DEAD HEAD make the book. I fell in love with Babe and her cafe from the beginning and kept hoping she was not the culprit that ratted Caroline out - I would love to see her star in her very own tale of intrigue. I feel a NEED to know her true background, past famous star or not. I also kept waiting on a relationship between the cop - Mike O'Malley and Paula and was slightly disappointed to find that they spar well, but love is not on the menu in this novel. I am a sucker for a good love story and wait for the novel where Paula meets her mate.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
