After many years and lots of pain, Mick and Megan O’Brien are ready to move onto their next step-marriage. One slight problem-not all their children are thrilled about the upcoming nuptials. Connor was hurt more than they thought when Megan left the family and now an up and coming divorce attorney, he prides himself on his view that marriage is nothing but a sham. He is determined to not give in and give his blessing to his parents. Megan is determined to not hurt her family again and is determined to show Connor that marriage can be good between two people. But misunderstandings, lingering mistrust and more conspire to sink this marriage. Can a Christmas miracle come in time to get Megan’s family back together again?

I love the Chesapeake Shores series and was thrilled to see Mick and Megan finally find their way back to one another. A CHESAPEAKE SHORES CHRISTMAS is a sweet story full of family, emotions and has characters that steal your heart. I love the way characters interacted together. They were so life-like I could imagine them stepping off the pages and interacting with me. The dynamics of the O’Brien family had me giggling one minute and the next wanting to smack someone. The family dynamics were written beautifully and helped keep the story flowing smoothly.

Meet Mick and Megan O’Brien, a couple who in the past divorced due to misunderstandings and mistakes on both sides. Now back together, Mick is determined to have Megan wear his ring and be by his side in Chesapeake Shores. Megan is determined that her family be happy and give their blessings for her and Mick’s upcoming marriage. When their son, Connor, vehemently refuses to give his blessing, she worries that nothing she says or does will heal the breach between her and Connor. I love Mick and Megan though I really wanted to shake some sense into Megan at times. They were a couple that I got invested in with the first three books and I was thrilled to see them center stage in A CHESAPEAKE SHORES CHRISTMAS. It was a treat to see Mick have to woo his lady and try to be patient as she worked through issues she had even if he didn’t quite agree with them. Add in the O’Brien siblings and their respective husbands and families, you have got the makings of a story that will entertain you till the very end. The story is well written and the storyline flowed smoothly. The secondary characters kept it moving along at a nice pace and I was eager to see what would happen next for Mick, Megan and the O’Brien’s.

Ms. Woods delivers a wonderful holiday story that will leave you breathless and eager to know what happens next for the O’Brien family and for Chesapeake Shores. If you haven’t grabbed the first three books to see how it all began (INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS) then I suggest you pick them up to see how Mick and Megan found their way back to one another. A CHESAPEAKE SHORES CHRISTMAS is the perfect book to get into the holiday moment. If you want a story that resonates with love, forgiveness and miracles then I highly suggest you run to grab this latest installment in the Chesapeake Shores series. It’s definitely a keeper for me and I look forward to revisiting the O’Brien’s again.
