Zoe Cyprienne Lane is only a seamstress’s daughter. Nonetheless she is a young drákon who hasn’t come into her powers. When she was a girl, Lord Rhys Langford was always teasing her, playing with her and finally declaring his undying love to her. But he is the second son of the Alpha male from their clan and can shapeshift. When Zoe’s gifts appear, she keeps them secret. If the clan knew, she would be given in marriage to the second son of the Alpha male and she wants to be independent. But, when news comes that Rhys has been captured, she sets out to find him. They share a link that brings him to her, almost as if he were there with her. She doesn’t think she will ever find him but only together can they save their world.

This author really knows how to write a thrilling story that has you soaring to unknown worlds and places and meeting characters that you can love. This is a wild adventure of a read and I had to read it in one sitting it was so enthralling. Zoe is the strongest character in this story. I had a bit of a hard time getting to like Rhys at first but he grew on me. There are also some good strong secondary characters that give the story more life and depth. This is not the first book about the Drákon but not having read them didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this story. There was a time when I thought Zoe should just give in to Rhys and not go looking for love elsewhere, but Ms Abé gives her some good reasons for this behavior. I can highly recommend this book and will definitely be catching up on the other stories as soon as possible.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
