EMERGENCE is awesome, plain and simple. This is an author who knows how to draw a reader into her web and keep them spellbound till the very last page. The characters fairly brimmed with life; the storyline flowed nicely and at an even clip and the twists kept me on the edge of my seat. This is an author who knows her characters and the world they live in. I was immersed from the first page, gasping at times at certain plot twists I did not see coming and drooling over Kaden, the strong alpha hero.
Meet Jamie Dalton, a woman who is resigned that her life will change on her birthday. Being the child of a forbidden mating (Human and Gryphon), she becomes the property of the First Dragon the next day and she is determined to have one last wild fling before her life becomes not her own. Sparks fly between Kaden and Jamie and they have a white hot night of passion. One tiny problem-Kaden has a secret, one that will leave them both shaken to the core. Can these two star-crossed lovers find a way to be together even as their love is forbidden? I love, love, love Kaden. He was a strong, alpha male yet always tender towards Jamie. The emotions of the characters came across the pages beautifully and engaged mine while reading it. Jamie is a kick butt heroine who was strong though resigned to her upcoming new life. Meeting Kaden was a surprise she never expected. There were a few secondary characters that intrigued me and I am hoping this author comes back with more.
EMERGENCE is a wonderful addition to any e-book library if you love complex characters, fast paced storylines and some twists that leave you breathless. Ms. Knox is fast becoming one of my favorite authors and I am eager to see what she creates next. If you enjoy dragons, steamy sex and multidimensional characters then pick up EMERGENCE. Settle in for one wild ride.
