Jack Monroe is lusting after his co-worker Alex James. Unfortunately, he thinks Alex is straight. With his pent up lust driving him nuts, Jack tries different ways to get Alex out of his system. Too bad it doesn’t help. He only wants one man and that is Alex.
When a chance encounter with an older man brings him to the Gentlemen’s Club, an exclusive and secretive gay men’s club, Jack thinks he is in heaven until he spies Alex dancing there. Will Jack give up on Alex before the truth is out?
POINT OF BEGINNING is more than two people finding they are perfect for one another. It’s about one man finding out that he is attracted to another man and learning to let go of his insecurities to finally get the relationship he craves.
Ms. Stanley delivers a great beginning in her Gentlemen’s Club series and is a perfect introduction to this author’s writing style. The writing is tight and the storyline moves along nicely. What make this a really good story are the characters Jack and Alex. Both have issues, who doesn’t?-and the author delves into their vulnerabilities and desires with the right mix of alpha-ness and sweetness. Jack is a virgin in regards to falling for other men. Bisexual and finding he is attracted to Alex just about throws him for a loop. Alex is more experienced and comfortable with his sexuality. What charmed me was the realness of how Jack and Alex dealt with their growing attraction. The author does a wonderful job conveying Jack’s panic over finding out he is gay to falling for the seemingly straight Alex.
There were some fun secondary characters that drew me in and had me wondering on their back-story. POINT OF BEGINNING is a fun, romantic story that will push each of your romantic buttons. I love stories where two people find their happily ever after a long and winding road.
Ms. Stanley delivers a wonderful tale to enjoy on a sunny afternoon and I, for one, am anxious to see what else happens in the Gentlemen’s Club. I look forward to exploring more from this author’s backlist and can’t wait to see what other gems she has in store for us in the future.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.

I read this story and enjoyed it a lot. What can I say, I like hot guys who fall for the geeks. Alex and Jack are a great couple.
Could not agree more, Ms. Stanley's stories are well crafted with real characters living in the real world. Always an enjoyable read.
